ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF STUDY

INTRODUCTION

ACADEMIC PREPARATION
My last University prepared me for being able to do what I intend to study by helping me establishing a
connection between my studies and the real world. Some interesting courses MBA (IB) like international
marketing, export management, and documentation have taught me exceptional critical-thinking skills and that
the answers will not always be in front of my face. The study of international business involves gaining an
understanding not only limited to culture, language, political systems, geography, and socioeconomic factors
influence a company’s business practices but more about transportation, supply chains, and distribution
networks affect foreign trade. I am not a voracious reader yet I've gained conclusive knowledge in logistics and
transportation by reading books like international marketing logistics, World Trade organization Constitution
and Operations.

INDUSTRIAL PREPARATION
I've poured sales and marketing into my cup. The more I poured it, the more I drank it because I loved it's taste
and never got bored of it. As an entry-level job, I started working as a Business development executive in an IT
Firm (SME)shop after the post graduation where I had super chances to talk with clients face to face that really
boosted confidence. This experience has helped me greatly to develop my communication skills. My job was in
sales of IT products, specifically, contacting potential clients for selling brand new laptops, assembled
desktops, and peripherals, accessories etc. I have never come across with serious problems with my job, yet
this thing happened. As usual, I was asked by my marketing manager to meet a client regarding a contract for
selling few desktop computers and its installation at their office. We talked about the overall cost and the
tender had been fixed. But after returning back to my shop, I realized I've failed to provide an exact invoice for
the total cost of computer, peripherals, installationand installation along with theand transportation charges. I
had reported the same to my marketing manager and he asked me to contact the client as soon as
possible regarding the price change and somehow I managed to convince my client without slipping the
contract and thus the issue got resolved. While working there, I've learned being loudmouthed in sales is a
must have experience. It is not about hoodwink or persuading the customer but it's more about sincerity. And
finally, the secret recipe of my success in sales is collecting the feedback from my clients with a simple email or
cheap phone calls that will put a smile not only on your face but enlighten their hearts too.

WHAT COURSE?
Post Graduate Diploma
Supply chain management

WHY THIS COURSE?

I did my bachelors in businesses administration and masters in international business with a motto of
expanding my career and understanding in global business and operations of international trade. I developed a
deep interest in this field because I realized supply chain management and logistics are essential for all types
of organizations irrespective of its size, all blossoms on the ability of Supply Chain and Logistics. Moreover, it is
a part and parcel of our daily lives. The materials we use daily like food, clothes, kitchen appliances and so
many other products are all made available with a supply chain or a network of activities that creates and
distributes products and services to the end consumer.

WHY THIS COLLEGE?

Canadian education will be always in the first top ten rank in the world. Canada gives access to International
students and the college and university diplomas are highly recognized around the world. I feel that a Post
Graduate Diploma program in Supply Chain Management at Lambton College, Canada, will be the most
logical addendum to my academic hunts and a major step towards achieving my objectives.Theobjectives. The
Supply Chain Management Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is accredited in February 2016 and is
effective until 2019 by the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council through its National Accreditation Program
(NAP). This program also includes co-op where I'll be having the opportunity to apply classroom learning to the
workplace in term 4. Though this program is rarely available in fewer institutes in India, the certifications are not
internationally accredited and the degrees awarded by these institutes have limited scope because India lacks
a supply chain council.
VISION
I am captivated in the field of supply chain management. This program would act as an extra edge with a better
understanding of logistics, transportation, supply chain, international markets and trade relations.Therelations.
The

conventional skills and typical knowledge taught by MBA programs are still necessary but aren't enough. After
graduating from Lambton College, Canada, I will be ready to lead in the rapidly evolving supply chain
businesses in India. India is an exorbitant growing economy and has become base for most of the multinational
companies. Most of the multinational in India prefer a specialist for performing crucial tasks. Moreover, I will be
easily able to join a good multinational firm in India, especially in Kerala.

GOAL
There is unlimited scope for supply chain management in India due to increasing transportation and logistics
network, globalization of businesses. Personalized content and services for customers add to the cause. The
employability potential of graduates is very high in India. Besides, a colossal initiative like ‘Make in India’ would
encompass exclusive spotlight on aggrandizement of supply chain and its management. I presage a very bright
future for myself back in India by joining any of the multi-national or homegrown companies
like Synthite Industries Ltd, Cochin Shipyard, Cochin Port Trust, DP World (Cochin), Indian Railways, Food
Corporation of India etc. India is emerging as Asia's next largest hub in transportation and logistics by 2025
and is estimated that the Indian logistics industry will continue to show robust growth of 10-15% annually.

CONCLUSION
A sympathetic consideration of my student visa application is requested and thank you for favorably
considering me.
