name and Beneficiary.
1. Project information The XL PRO3 CALCUL software offers a revision system to
retain details of the state of an electrical installation at a
given point in its design process.
When a new study is created, the XL PRO3 CALCUL software
automatically creates the first revision, with subject "Creating
the installation" and the current date.
When you want to retain details of the state of the electrical
installation, simply add a revision by right-clicking on the
Revisions zone and selecting Add a revision. The software
may ask you if you want to save modifications made to the
current revision before moving on to the new revision. The
revision index is managed automatically. You can enter the
subject of the revision and change the date that has been
initialised at the current date.
When a study file is opened, the XL PRO3 CALCUL software
automatically loads the state of the installation at the most
recent revision. To change revision, simply select the revision
from the list then click on the Load the installation with the
selected revision button. If the revision that has been loaded
is not the most recent one, the installation will be in read-only
mode, i.e. you cannot modify the structure of the installation.

E Calculation data
1. General introduction
As the diagram is developed, you must complete the
specifications of consumers, as well as a certain amount of
data necessary to the calculations for your installation.
These characteristics appear:
- in the area where calculation data are displayed (on the right
of your screen), or
- in the circuit information sheet (complete description on
next page). The circuit sheet displays the specifications and
results of a circuit in a single window.
The calculation data that must be filled in will vary depending
on the elements and circuits (see details on following pages).
If certain information is in error or is missing,
XL PRO3 CALCUL will display an error message in the
messages area (description on page 19) to enable you to
complete or correct the data.

ouble conversion UPS + ECO mode: this is a double
conversion UPS, to which an energy saving mode has been
added. In ECO mode, the load is supplied as a priority by the

When the ByPass channel supply is no longer available (or

which is itself supplied by the rectifier or the battery,
depending on the availability of the mains power supply.
-U
PS in direct interaction: in normal mode, the load is
supplied by the mains supply. The inverter is connected in
parallel with the load, and its combination with a power
interface on the upstream supply improves the quality of the
voltage provided. The inverter is reversible, and therefore
also charges the battery. In standalone mode, the power
interface decouples the upstream supply and the load is
supplied by the inverter. When there is a ByPass channel, it
can be directly connected to the main power supply, or to a
replacement power supply (R2).
-U
PS in passive standby: in normal mode, the load is
supplied by the mains supply and the battery is charged by
the rectifier. The inverter is isolated from the load by means
of a switch. In standalone mode, the switch switches the
load onto the inverter, generally with a switching time of
around 10 ms.
This economical topology provides rudimentary protection,
is generally only used for low powers and has no ByPass.

When the Magnetic setting option is set to Favour selectivity, The selectivity displayed in a protection device is selectivity
the minimum cross-sections of the phase and neutral between the selected protection device and the upstream
conductors are calculated so that the minimum short circuits protection device. The results are obtained from tables
are higher than the magnetic settings of the circuit breakers supplied by the manufacturers. They are only valid if all the
(inclusive of tolerance). conditions indicated by the manufacturer for the setting and
installation of the devices are observed.
The following selectivity results may appear:

ot calculated indicates that it has not been possible to
verify the selectivity. This message is found in the following
Under certain conditions, coordination, or combining two

selected.
-N
one means that no selectivity has been found in the tables
for the chosen combination of devices (selected protection
device, upstream protection device).
-P
artial means that the selectivity between the two devices is
partial, i.e. there is only selectivity for short circuits that do
not exceed the displayed limit.
- Total means that there is total selectivity between the two
devices. No coordination or combination is used when this
result is displayed.
-O
perating may be indicated on consumer circuits if the
selectivity is partial but its limit is between the Isc at the
terminals of the downstream device and the Isc at the point
of use (most short circuits occur at the point of use rather
than at the centre or upstream of a circuit).
-A
djust circuit breaker means that selectivity has been found
in the manufacturer's tables, but the setting conditions
indicated by Legrand have not been observed. Modify the
settings of the upstream and/or downstream device to
obtain a satisfactory result.
In some cases the selectivity result is accompanied by a
comment. This may concern additional conditions (which
cannot be checked by the software) to be observed when
setting the devices.
