Athenian Constitution: ...[They were tried] by a court empanelled from among the noble families, and sworn upon the sacrifices. The part of
accuser was taken by Myron. They were found guilty of the sacrilege, and their bodies were cast out of their graves and their race banished for
evermore. In view of this expiation, Epimenides the Cretan performed a purification of the city. After this event there was contention for a long
time between the upper classes and the populace. Not only was the constitution at this time oligarchical in every respect, but the poorer classes,
men, women, and children, were the serfs of the rich. They were known as Pelatae and also as Hectemori, because they cultivated the lands of the
rich at the rent thus indicated. The whole country was in the hands of a few persons, and if the tenants failed to pay their rent they were liable to be
haled into slavery, and their children with them.
All loans secured upon the debtor's person, a custom which prevailed until the time of Solon, who was the first to appear as the champion of the
people. But the hardest and bitterest part of the constitution in the eyes of the masses was their state of serfdom. Not but what they were also
discontented with every other feature of their lot; for, to speak generally, they had no part nor share in anything. .
The Thesmothetae were many years afterward when these offices had already become annual, with the object that they might publicly record all
legal decisions, and act as guardians of them with a view to determining the issues between litigants. Accordingly their office. Now the ancient
constitution, as it existed before the time of Draco, was organized as follows. The magistrates were elected according to qualifications of birth and
wealth. At first they governed for life, but subsequently for terms of ten years. The first magistrates, both in date and in importance, were the King,
the Polemarch, and the Archon. The earliest of these offices was that of the King, which existed from ancestral antiquity. To this was added,
secondly, the office of Polemarch, on account of some of the kings proving feeble in war; for it was on this account that Ion was invited to accept
the post on an occasion of pressing need. The last of the three offices was that of the Archon, which most authorities state to have come into
existence in the time of Medon. Others assign it to the time of Acastus, and adduce as proof the fact that the nine Archons swear to execute their
oaths 'as in the days of Acastus,' which seems to suggest that it was in his time that the descendants of Codrus retired from the kingship in return
for the prerogatives conferred upon the Archon. Whichever way it may be, the difference in date is small; but that it was the last of these
magistracies to be created is shown by the fact that the Archon has no part in the ancestral sacrifices, as the King and the Polemarch have, but
exclusively in those of later origin. So it is only at a comparatively late date that the office of Archon has become of great importance, through the
dignity conferred by these later additions of those which have been mentioned, was never of more than annual duration. Such, then, is the relative
chronological precedence of these offices. At that time the nine Archons did not all live together. The King occupied the building now known as the

Boculium, near the Prytaneum, as may be seen from the fact that even to the present day the marriage of the King's wife to Dionysus takes place
there. The Archon lived in the Prytaneum, the Pole march in the Epilyceum. The latter building was formerly called the Polemarcheum, but
after Epilycus, during his term of office as Polemarch, had rebuilt it and fitted it up, it was called the Epilyceum.
The Thesmothetae occupied the Thesmotheteum. In the time of Solon, however, they all came together into the Thesmotheteum. They had
power to decide cases finally on their own authority, not, as now, merely to hold a preliminary hearing. Such then was the arrangement of the
magistracies. The Council of Areopagus had as its constitutionally assigned duty the protection of the laws; but in point of fact it administered
the greater and most important part of the government of the state, and inflicted personal punishments and fines summarily upon all who
misbehaved themselves. This was the natural consequence of the facts that the Archons were elected under qualifications of birth and wealth,
and that the Areopagus was composed of those who had served as Archons; for which latter reason the membership of the Areopagus is the only
office which has continued to be a life-magistracy to the present day.

Athenian Democracy: What's in a word? We may live in a very different and much more complex world, but without the ancient Greeks we
wouldn't even have the words to talk about many of the things we care most about. Take politics for example: apart from the word itself (from
polis, meaning city-state or community) many of the other basic political terms in our everyday vocabulary are borrowed from the ancient
Greeks: monarchy, aristocracy, tyranny, oligarchy and - of course - democracy. The ancient Greek word demokratia was ambiguous. It meant
literally 'people-power'. But who were the people to whom the power belonged? Was it all the people - the 'masses'? Or only some of the people
- the duly qualified citizens? The Greek word demos could mean either. There's a theory that the word demokratia was coined by democracy's
enemies, members of the rich and aristocratic elite who did not like being outvoted by the common herd, their social and economic inferiors. If
this theory is right, democracy must originally have meant something like 'mob rule' or 'dictatorship of the proletariate.
The Greek Poitical system: By the time of Aristotle (fourth century BC) there were hundreds of Greek democracies. Greece in those times was
not a single political entity but rather a collection of some 1,500 separate poleis or 'cities' scattered round the Mediterranean and Black Sea
shores 'like frogs around a pond', as Plato once charmingly put it. Those cities that were not democracies were either oligarchies - where power
was in the hands of the few richest citizens - or monarchies, called 'tyrannies' in cases where the sole ruler had usurped power by force rather
than inheritance. Of the democracies, the oldest, the most stable, the most long-lived, but also the most radical, was Athens.

Salon the Law maker: Solon's task was dangerous and difficult because of the greediness of one side and the

Solon said: "Fairness breeds no strife (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20strife)." To the poor,
"fairness" meant equal wealth; and to the rich, "fairness" meant keeping what they owned. Both rich and poor, therefore, believed for a while
that Solon was on their side. But soon the poor people became disgusted that Solon would not use his power to seize the property of the rich.
Solon's friends advised him that he would be a fool if he did not take advantage of the opportunity that fate had presented. Now that he had this

Solon, who was a wise man, replied that tyranny is indeed a very pleasant peak, but there is no way down from it.
Unlike Lycurgus, Solon could not change the state from top to bottom, so he worked only on what it was possible to improve without a total
revolution. He only attempted what he thought he could persuade the Athenians to accept, with a little compulsion

laws he could for the Athenians, he answered: "The best they were able to receive." Solon made it a law that a son was not bound to relieve
his father's old age unless the father had set him up in some craft. He also made it a law that every man had to report each year how he made

Solon's first reform was forbidding mortgages (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20mortgage) on bodies. Even

with the consent (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20consent) of the debtor, the creditor
(http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20creditor) could no longer legally enslave him and his family. Those who
had already become slaves were liberated, and those who had been sold to foreigners returned to Athens as free men. Solon also ordered that
all outstanding debts were forgiven, so all mortgages on land disappeared. But here Solon was disappointed by his friends. Shortly before he
published his law releasing all mortgages, he told some of his most trusted friends. They immediately went out and borrowed money to buy
land, giving the purchased land as security for repayment of the loan. When the law was published, they had their land free and clear. For
this, Solon was suspected, but when it came to be known that he himself had lost fifteen talents (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB
/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20talent) by his own law, he managed to escape serious damage to his reputation. Neither the rich nor the poor got
all they wanted from Solon's reforms (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20reforms). There was no complete
redistribution of wealth as the poor had demanded, and the rich were angry about the loss of the money they were owed. Both the rich and
the poor now hated Solon for not obeying their desires. Even those who had been friendly to him before now looked at him with grim faces,
as an enemy. But with time and success came forgiveness. When the Athenians saw the good result of the release of debts, they appointed
Solon general reformer of their law.
Solon made it a law that anyone who refused to take sides in a revolution would lose all civil rights. By this law he made sure that the good
would resist the bad and not hide hoping to save themselves, or wait until they could see which side will win. When Solon was asked once
which city he thought was well-governed, he said: "That city where those who have not been injured take up the cause of one who has, and
prosecute (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20prosecute) the case as earnestly as if the wrong had been done
to themselves." Accordingly, he allowed anyone to take up the cause of a poor man who had been injured. Solon was willing to allow the rich
men to continue to be the officers, but he wanted to allow the poor citizens to participate in the government. He therefore classed the citizens
according to income. The lowest class, the thetes, were ineligible for election to any office. However, the thetes were allowed to come into the
assembly, and as jurors they decided cases submitted to their vote. Since Solon's laws were deliberately (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com

archons [annual presidents] of Athens. Seeing that after the release of debts the people were beginning to be unruly

/vocabulary.htm%20/%20arrogant), Solon also created a council of four hundred -- one hundred from each of the four tribes in Athens. This was an
additional legislative body, whose powers were limited to debating matters before they were submitted to the people for a vote. Nothing
could be voted on until it had been vetted (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20vetted) by the four hundred.
With the supreme court and the council of four hundred as anchors, the turbulence (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage

within safe limits. Solon made it a crime to defame the dead. As for the living, attacks on character were prohibited in the council-chambers
of the city and at certain festivals. Solon knew that spite (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20spite) is part of
human nature, but he established certain places where it was illegal to indulge (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage
/vocabulary.htm%20/%20indulge) this weakness. To suppress it completely would have been impossible. If the aim is to punish a few, moderately,
as an example -- rather than many, severely, to no purpose -- the lawmaker must confine his law to the limits of human nature, and not try to
legislate perfection.
Under Athenian law at that time, if a loan went into default (http://www.e-classics.com/vocabulary.htm%20/%20defaulted), the creditor
(http://www.e-classics.com/vocabulary.htm%20/%20creditor) could seize the debtor and his family and sell them as slaves to get money to

Anacharsis, who was one of these wise men, came to visit Solon in Athens. When Anacharsis saw Athenian democracy at work, he
remarked that it was strange that in Athens wise men spoke and fools decided. Solon admired this man's ready wit (http://www.e-classics.com
/vocabulary.htm%20/%20wit) and he entertained Anacharsis as his guest for a long time. Solon showed Anacharsis some laws that he was
drafting for the Athenians. Anacharsis laughed at Solon for imagining that the dishonesty and greed of the Athenians could be restrained
(http://www.e-classics.com/vocabulary.htm%20/%20restrained) by written laws. Such laws, said Anacharsis, are like spider webs: they catch the weak
and poor, but the rich can rip right through them. hills, who favored democracy (http://www.e-classics.com/vocabulary.htm%20/%20democracy); the
people of the plains, who favored oligarchy (http://www.e-classics.com/vocabulary.htm%20/%20oligarchy); and the people of the shore, who favored
a mixed sort of government and prevented either of the other two factions from prevailing (http://www.e-classics.com/vocabulary.htm%20
/%20prevail). The political turmoil (http://www.e-classics.com/vocabulary.htm%20/%20turmoil) had come to the point where it appeared that the only
way any government at all could be established would be for some tyrant (http://www.e-classics.com/vocabulary.htm%20/%20tyrant) to take all
power into his own hands.
The resentment of the poor against the arrogance of the rich empowers a dictator to reform the society. Supported by the parasites and
criminals, the tyrant's gang of hired soldiers gradually kills off anyone who might threaten his control, and he disregards justice. No one's
life and property are secure from the tyrant's power. No one dares to be the least bit original or ambitious because an army of professional
informants directs the tyrant's paranoia against anyone who stands out from the crowd. With enthusiasm and innovation chilled by fear,
the society becomes technologically retarded, morally timid, and artistically numb. The classical era furnishes many examples of the

Solon repealed (http://fw40.members.freewebs.com/MembersB/EditPage/vocabulary.htm%20/%20repealed) the laws of Dracon, which punished even

small offenses with death, so it was said that the laws of Dracon [codified 621 B.C.] were written in blood instead of ink. When someone
asked Dracon why he had made his laws so severe, he answered: "We need the death penalty to prevent small crimes, and for bigger ones I
can't think of any greater punishment." Solon reserved the death penalty for murder and manslaughter. From Dracon we get the modern
adjective "draconian," which is used to describe laws where the penalties are extreme in relation to the harm of the crime. The same
Draconian approach is taken today with regard to current political fads in crime, and the same flimsy justification is offered.
Solon left Athens and took a ship to Egypt [590 B.C.], thinking he could find a way to end the laws of Dracon, knowing that Egypt held the
scared law of Draco. The priests of Egypt told Solon the ancient story of the lost continent of Atlantis. Solon translated the story of Atlantis
into Greek verse, thinking that it would be a very good thing for the Greeks to know. Solon consulted the ancient records kept by the
Egyptians and made a start on the story of Atlantis. Plato (427-347 B.C.), who was a relative of Solon, inherited the task, and his dialogue
the Timaeus and a fragment entitled Critias tell part of this story. Nine thousand years (according to Plato) before Solon's visit to Egypt, a
great civilization on an island in the Atlantic Ocean disappeared on a day of great rain and earthquakes. Plato did not finish the story, and

The legacy of Pythagoras, Socrates and Plato was claimed by the wisdom tradition of the Hellenized Jews of Alexandria, on the ground
that their teachings derived from those of Moses. Through Philo of Alexandria this tradition passed into the Medieval culture, with the
idea that groups of things of the same number are related or in sympathy. This idea evidently influenced Hegel in his concept of
internal relations.
The ancient Pythagorean pentagram was drawn with two points up and represented the doctrine of Pentemychos means "five recesses"
or "five chambers," also known as the pentagonas — the five-angle, and was the title of a work written by Pythagoras' teacher and friend
Pherecydes of Syros. All this extends to the worship of Orphism. Which corresponds with Dionysus/Osiris and the mystic rites, the
aspirant was made to represent, symbolically and in a dramatic form, the events connected with the slaying of the god from whom the
Mysteries derived their name. After a variety of preparatory ceremonies, intended to call forth all his courage and fortitude, the
aphanism or mystical death of Dionysus was figured out in the ceremonies, and the shrieks and lamentations of the initiates, with the
confinement or burial of the candidate on the pastos, couch, or coffin, constituted the first part of the ceremony of initiation. Then
began the search of Rhea for the remains of Dionysus, which was continued amid scenes of the greatest confusion and tumult, until, at
last, the search having been successful, the mourning was turned into joy, light succeeded to darkness, and the candidate was invested
with the knowledge of the secret doctrine of the Mysteries—the belief in the existence of one God, and a future state of rewards and

When Hercules (/wiki/Hercules) had to perform twelve labors (/wiki/Heracles%20/%20Twelve_Labors), one of them was to fetch the Cattle of
Geryon (/wiki/Geryon) in Spain (/wiki/Spain) and bring it to Eurystheus (/wiki/Eurystheus). On his way to the island of Erytheia (/wiki
/Erytheia) he had to cross the mountain that was once Atlas. Instead of climbing the great mountain, he cut corners and put his mind
to work. He decided to use his great strength to smash through the colossal mountain that used to be a colossal giant. Hercules split
it in half using his indestructible mace (/wiki/Mace_%28club%29) or club (/wiki/Club_%28weapon%29) (as constructed in the zodiac). By
doing so, he connected the Atlantic Ocean (/wiki/Atlantic_Ocean) to the Mediterranean sea (/wiki/Mediterranean_Sea) and formed the strait
of Gibraltar (/wiki/Strait_of_Gibraltar). One part of the split mountain is Gibraltar (/wiki/Gibraltar) and the other is either Monte Hacho
(/wiki/Monte_Hacho) or Jebel Musa (/wiki/Jebel_Musa%2C_Morocco) . These two mountains taken together have since then been known as

astrologers heavens, where the celestial bodies revolve in accordance with the sun and the moon, and the creatures of the sea and
beast of the earth. Enoch/Hermes was also the god of magic, writing, medicine, and mathematics. The mysteries of this science
was made known to Adam and Eve after The serpent beguiled Eve, and she ate of the fruit of the tree, and Eve gave unto Adam and
he did eat of the fruit of the tree of Knowledge of good and evil. These mysteries would be handed down through Cain unto his son
Enoch, and unto Enoch son Lamech who eventually would slay Cain his Grandfather. So the great rebellion would be established

For God saw the wickedness of Man was great in the Earth in those days and that every imagination of thought of his heart was only
evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I
will destroy man who I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and creeping thing, and the fowls of the air for
it repenteth me that I have made them, for the earth was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. But Noah found
grace in the eyes of the LORD. And the Lord told Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me, for the earth is filled with violence

knowledge of geometry. This knowledge was instructed unto Noah, by God; even all the measurements, and Noah did as the Lord
commanded him. It seems that at the time Noah and his sons are building this ark, that the hearts of men were being troubled
maybe even mocking Noah for building this boat; for it seemed strange unto them, probley because never did rain fall from the
heavens, but there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the earth. In those days God did not cause it to rain

others knew something was up, and decided to preserve the forbidden Knowledge while the ark was in building.
Masonry claims that Enoch, Cain son had written this science upon two pillars. To understand the word pillar we must take a look
at the word Chiun, which denotes the house of vanity, a place of worship and initiation; Baal-peor - same as Aven which is the city
on On of Egypt. This Chiun meaning: to erect an idol and describe thereon a writing known as euphemism, to stand
perpendicular, exactly upright side by side, representing two great Pillars that would be united as one under the god to whom
they were erected. As stated in Genesis the serpent beguiled eve and told her, that God knows that in the day you eat their of, that
your eyes shall be opened, and you would becomes gods knowing good and evil. Genesis 3:5. Cain would Eventually become a god
and the Pillars that would be erected unto him would become the Arch or portal that would lead into the teachings of the great
master Baal (Sa-tawn), who illuminated the first Architect, CAIN who was marked by the Almighty God for his rebellion against
his brother. But as noted above wickedness was upon the whole face of the earth and all flesh and corrupted themselves under the
perverseness of these teachings, and God was moved to destroy it from the earth, but THE ALMIGHTY found one righteous that
had not turned from the truth, but worshiped the God who created the host of heaven, the righteous NOAH.
Noah and his sons were all learned in the Art of Masonry. The next cities to be built according to Genesis 10:10; would be Ham’s
son Cush who bore Nimrod who constructed the Kingdom of Babel, and Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. And they

they said that they wanted to make a name for themselves, lest they would be scattered upon the face on the earth. And God came

language and scattered them abroad upon the face of the earth and they left off to build the city. Then we see Shem’s son Asshur
leaving out of that land to builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah, and Resen: THE SAME IS A GREAT CITY. Then
Mizraim sons Ludim, and Anamimm, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, and Pathrusim, and Casluhim out of who came PHILISTIM,

The Freemasons state that Enoch Cain son, had written the science’s of the Zodiac upon 2 pillars; which were found by Ham who

Nearly every empire worthy of the name—from ancient Rome to the United States—has sought an Egyptian obelisk to place in
the center of a ceremonial space. Obelisks—giant standing stones, invented in Ancient Egypt as sacred objects—serve no
practical purpose. For much of their history their inscriptions, in Egyptian hieroglyphics, were completely inscrutable. Yet over

In each culture obelisks have taken on new meanings and associations. To the Egyptians, the obelisk was the symbol of a
pharaoh’s right to rule and connection to the divine. In ancient Rome, obelisks were the embodiment of Rome's coming of
age as an empire. To nineteenth-century New Yorkers, the obelisk in Central Park stood for their country’s rejection of the
trappings of empire just as it was itself beginning to acquire imperial power. And to a twentieth-century reader of Freud, the
obelisk had anatomical and psychological connotations.
These so called pillars were symbols of Osiris and Isis, which were situated infront of a (peak) of a ancient mountain
(pyramid) showing it’s power through the sun god in the regeneration of life and death, from the tree of knowledge of
good and evil. Also Known as the Djed pillars.
A branch off of the tree of knowledge of good and evil would become Cain's rod, which was handed down unto his son

The rod/caduceus of Enoch/Hermes/Thoth, would also represent the

power of the sun god by which magic was devised. This rod that had entwined serpents and wings held the power of host
of heaven, to make one believe that the man ruling was the god or Ra- incarnated in man thus becoming a god on earth.
Suggesting that the branch (rod) held the power that was written on the pillars which connected the innate of male and
female as partaking in the forbidden fruit that was guarded by the serpent who had convinced the woman to unite with
the man to become triune with this wisdom of a secret knowledge that would make them gods. These pillars represented
in the architectural language symbolized an extremely clear and restrictive prohibition, as the entrance to a sacred and
secret place. A temple of worship to the sun god who’s pillars were representations of the erected edifice unto Chinun as

man, and the worship of the host of heaven. The pillars were very important to the worship of the sun god, and were and
are still found in front of the most scared temples or buildings, in many Nations. These Pillars would signify the Royal

representing a code of laws. The pillars were represented by male and female, the sign of fertility meaning one chosen

The Phoenicians of Tyre extended the worship of Baal/Moloch in the particular Tyrian manifestation Baal Melqart, ('the
baal (king) of the city') to Phoenician colonies around the mediteranean, the greatest of which was Carthage in North
Africa only to reunited under a new Master Hiram King of Tyre, and the building commencement of the house Solomon
was in building for 13 years. This would once again be the establishment of the Dionysiac fraternity at the city of Tyre,
and the initiation of “Hiram the builder” into its mysteries. Let us now pursue the chain of historical events which finally
united this purest branch of the spurious freemasonry of the pagan nations with the primitive freemasonry of the Jews at

the (three) Master Mason’s; meaning (TWO ARCHITECTS, AND THE MASTER BUILDER) that would bring to light
the hidden meaning of the Royal Arch chapter in the Degrees of Freemasonry. 1st. Solomon King Israel, who took to
wife the daughter of Pharaoh ,and Solomon brought her into the city of David until he had made an end of building
his own house, and the house of the Lord and the wall of Jerusalem round about. (I Kings 3:1). 2nd, King Hiram of
Tyre who was a lover of David, Solomon’s father, and King Hiram and Solomon they two made a league together. (1
Kings 5:1-12). 3 rd, Hiram, who was a widow’s son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his Father was a man of Trye, a worker
in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding , and cunning to work all works of brass.
It was Hiram King of Tyre who laid the foundations for the great Tyrian sea empire that knew no equal in ancient
history." The ‘Golden Age' of Phoenicia/Tyre began during his reign, but it wasn't all his doing. Tyre was aided by the
waning power of Egypt, by the defeat of the Philistines in 975 by David, and by the unification of Israel. Israel was a
state friendly to Tyre (Hiram's diplomatic skills may have had to do with this), and one which had few ships, a large
market of customers for Tyre's trade, and access to land trade routes with Mesopotamia. The worship of Tyre's special
deity, Melkarth, and Phoenician Hercules, became the most wide-spread religion in the ancient world. His shrines
dotted the Mediterranean and were planted by colonists even beyond the Straits of Gibraltar. The mountains on either
side of Gibraltar were named the Pillars of Melkarth, or, as the Greeks called them, the pillars of Hercules; for the
legends of Melkarth, his labors, and his wanderings, were ascribed by the Greeks to Hercules, their own similar deity.
In the absence of any complete Phoenician history, the first ruler of Tyre of whom we have definite knowledge is that
Hiram, or Huram, of whom the Bible tells as a contemporary of David and Solomon. From other sources we learn that
Hiram came to the throne about 980 B.C. as a youth of nineteen, and ruled for nearly forty years.

We should not think of him merely as the ally of the Hebrew kings, sending them cedars from Lebanon for the

make every link in this chain of connection complete, it is necessary that the mystic artists of Tyre should be proved to

To this man—this widow's son, Hiram (as Scripture history, as well as Masonic tradition informs us)—was entrusted
by King Solomon an important position among the workmen who held the secrets of the sacred edifice, which was
constructed on Mount Moriah. His knowledge and experience as an artificer, and his eminent skill in every kind of
“curious and cunning workmanship,” readily placed him at the head of both the Jewish and Tyrian craftsmen, as the
chief builder and principal conductor of the works; and it is to him, by means of the large authority which this position
gave him, that we attribute the union of two people, so antagonistically in race, so dissimilar in manners, and so

opposed in religion, as the Jews and Tyrians, in one common brotherhood, which resulted in the organization of the
institution a Fraternity thus established the rites of Ititations. This Hiram, as a Tyrian and an artificer, must have
been connected with the Dionysiac CRAFT; nor could he have been a very humble or inconspicuous member, if we
may judge of his rank in the society, from the amount of talent which he is said to have possessed, and from the
elevated position that he held in the affections, and at the court, of the king of Tyre. He must, therefore, have been
well acquainted with all the ceremonial usages of the Dionysiac artificers, and must have enjoyed a long
experience of the advantages of the government and discipline which they practiced in the erection of the many
sacred edifices in which they were engaged. A portion of these ceremonial usages and of this discipline he would
naturally be inclined to introduce among the workmen at Jerusalem. He therefore united them in a society, similar
in many respects to that of the Dionysiac artificers. He inculcated lessons of his love for David, and made a league
with Solomon, he established a ceremony of initiation, to test experimentally the fortitude and worth of the
candidate; adopted modes of recognition; and impressed the obligations of duty and principles of morality by
means of symbols and allegories, which represents ICONOLOGY.
When Solomon, king of Israel, was about to build, in accordance with the purposes of his father, David, “a house
unto the name of the Lord his God,” and Solomon's own house, he made his intention known to Hiram, king of
Tyre, and they two made a league together; and because he was well aware of the architectural skill of the Tyrian
Dionysiacs, he besought that monarch's assistance to enable him to carry his pious design into execution. Scripture
informs us that Hiram complied with the request of Solomon, and sent him the necessary workmen to assist him in
the glorious undertaking. Among others, he sent an architect, who is briefly described, in the First Book of Kings, as
“a widow's son, of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father a man of Tyre, a worker in brass, a man filled with wisdom
and understanding and cunning to work all works in brass;” and more fully, in the second book of Chronicles, as “a
cunning man, endued with understanding of Hiram my father's, the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and
his father, a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in
blue, and in fine linen and in crimson, also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out any device which shall
be put to him.”
As we take a look at Solomon house that was in building for 13 years. The
Connection is with the porch that Solomon built. Now this Porch represents a portal that united the connecting
pillars. This would be the edifice in freemasonry or keystone that represented the Arch that would lead into another
part of the house that was a sacred place.
According to the Act of Congress dated 1835 by John Fellows, and in the southern district of New York, the Arch
supported by the two pillars is a representation of the simicircle made by the apparent course of the sun in the
upper himisphere fron Aries to Libra inclusive.
Solomon said that this porch represented the daughter of Pharaoh who he also made a house for. And for this cause
he would send and fetch Hiram a widows son of the tribe of Naphtali. This edifice, (the porch) would be the Royal
Arch of Solomon that would be a entry into another court of Pharaoh's daughter which was connected to Solomon
house.
I Kings 7: 15, also see that the Pillars were set up in the porch of the temple. I Kings 7:21 This would become the
Royal Arch in Freemasonry known as Succoth Benoth, which represented the booths of the daughters brothels
meaning: IDOLATROUS ROOMS OF IMPURE PURPOSES. A entwined lair, a covert den, pavillion, tabernacle. A
secret place for only the Kings and master builders. For the master builders were given the status of a prince.
But King Solomon loved many strange women together with the daughter of Pharaoh. See: I Kings chapter 11.

under Solomon and the perversness of Egypt is made known, and Hiram the Master builder is not murdered and
the keystone is not missing; that is just an allegory that the speculative freemason had to tie in to hide the real

Signs and token's of the Ancient Charge of the Ancient Mason: The Law
Masons and non-Masons alike have explained the need for secret grips and signals by stating that medieval
stonemasons were itinerant workers, traveling from castles job to cathedral sites as work was available. Because
they had no permanent base like other guilds, they would need secret signs by which to identify each other to
maintain their "closed shop" monopoly status. With no fixed home, they would meet in lodges to discuss their
affairs. That theory would have us believe that constructing an abbey, a castle, or a cathedral was not unlike
throwing up prefabricated tract housing with temporary workers. To build a castle, in fact, might take five to
twenty years, and the great Gothic cathedrals were under construction for generations, with some taking as much
as a century to complete. The theory would also require that the structure was being built outside the jurisdiction
of the authority of the guild charter, which would require permission for legal travel. Evidence of membership in
that guild would not have to have been kept a secret, nor would the evidence of such membership have been
limited to verbal communication.
Freemasons have a few ancient documents they call the "Old Charges of Masonry," the oldest of which appears to
date from the fourteenth century. They set forth rules of conduct and responsibility that have been assumed to
relate to the conduct of the medieval stonemasons' guild. One of these charges is that no member is to reveal any
secret of any brother that might cost him his life and property. The only such secret, one that would cost a man
his life and property, would have been that he was guilty of treason or heresy, or, as is often the case when there
is a state religion, both. Another charge is that no visiting brother is to go into the town without a local brother to
"witness" for him. If a stonemason had legitimate employment with the local lord or bishop, he would have had no
need for anyone to witness for him (evidence knowledge of him). On the other hand, if he had no proof of
employment, had no travel pass and no means to explain his business in the town, he could and would have been
apprehended and thrown into jail straightaway and held there until the matter was settled. A known local witness
could provide a believable cover story and verification of a real or assumed identity. Most important, the resident
brother could steer the visitor away from the very people and places that might cause the questions to come up.
Still another old charge was that the visiting brother be given "employment" for two weeks, then given some
money and put on the road to the next lodge. We should not be asked to believe that medieval guilds of master
craftsmen made a practice of hiring men they didn't need and bestowing money on itinerant stonemasons passing
through. That kind of treatment is much more likely to be extended to a man on the run, who would be given
lodging for up to two weeks, not "employment." This brotherhood was a secret organization that somehow
included men being, or aiding and abetting, heretics and traitors. It was vital that they stick together.
The medieval guilds were very religious, and any guild counting on the Roman Catholic church as its major
customer would have been especially and overtly devout. Freemasonry, however, admits any believer in a
monotheistic God. The ritual makes no mention of Jesus Christ, or of his Mother, while many guilds were in the
forefront of the growing special veneration of Mary. How could such a transition have taken place? It didn't.
The oldest known Masonic text, the "old charges," which dates at least as far back as 1400, sets out a legendary
heritage that begins with the antediluvian patriarch Cain, then to Jabal, ("the which science is called masonries")
and wrote down his findings on pillars of stone. After Noah's flood destroyed all human civilization, the Egyptian

The medieval guild, a combination of trade union and regulated monopoly, had the responsibility of inducting
trainees and preserving trade secrets; this was the origin of the famous Masonic passwords and secret
handgrips. And because medieval civilization was steeped in religion, spiritual and ethical instruction was
included in the apprentices' training, giving rise to the lessons imparted in the Masonic degrees. The secrets
were also built into the structure or building to give honor of worship to their diety.

In the early modern period, the guild system began to break down; as it did, the associations of practicing
stoneworkers -- what is known as "operative Masonry" -- began to evolve into the "speculative Masonry" of
today's lodges. Here the old symbolism of plumb and square, compass and gauge, for moral and ethical virtues
was retained, but now purely symbolically. Eventually the "operative" side was lost altogether and Masons were
drawn chiefly from them nobility and bourgeoisie.

The Holy Roman Empire was formally founded in the year 800 by Charlemagne, King of the Franks and
Lombards, who revived the Imperial August Title of Roman Emperor in the West. According to Carolingian
theory, the Roman Empire had merely been suspended, not ended, by the abdication of the last Roman
Emperor Romulus Augustus in 476. On Christmas Day, In the year 800 AD Pope Leo III, Crowned
Charlemagne Roman Emperor, in St.Peters, Rome, probably perceived more as a personal Imperial Title than
as a reference to a particular Territorial Rule.
The Holy Roman Empire was once famously dismissed by Voltaire as neither Holy, Roman, nor an Empire,
despite covering most of central Europe for over a thousand years, its history was intricately interwoven with
that of Europe as a whole. The ghosts of the old Empire still haunt the Twenty-First century Europe in the guise
of many institutions and ideals as well as political divisions and factional struggles.
From the death of Arnulf (899), the last Carolingian to hold the Imperial Title, until Emperor Otto’s Coronation
in Rome by Pope John XII, various rulers bore the Imperial Title but exercised no authority; among them were
Louis III, King of Provence, and Berengar I, King of Italy. From the time of Otto's reign the Imperial office was
based on the German Kingship. The German King, elected by the German Princes, automatically sought
Imperial Coronation by the Pope, the Churchmen who crowned the Emperors, and thus actually sustained the
Empire, considered it to be the Church's Secular arm, sharing responsibility for the welfare and spread of the
Christian faith and duty-bound to protect the Papacy. This view of the relationship between Church and state,
which dated from the reign of Roman Emperor Constantine I, was generally accepted by both Emperors and
Popes. In practice, however, this partnership seldom worked smoothly, as one of the partners inevitably tried to

dominate the other. Frequent fluctuations in the actual power and vitality of each individual as well as
changes in the prevailing political and theological theories gave a fluid, dynamic quality to the empire's
history. After 1045 a King who was not yet Crowned Emperor was known as King of the Romans, a Title that
asserted his right to the Imperial Throne and implied that he was Emperor-designate. Not every German
King became Emperor, however, because the Popes, especially when elections to the Kingships were
disputed, often claimed that the selection of the Emperor was their prerogative. Despite the fact that the
German Kingship and the Imperial office were technically elective, they tended to become hereditary. At
times the electors, the German Princes who approved the succession to the German Kingship, exercised real
authority in choosing the King, although Papal confirmation was still necessary for accession to the Imperial
Throne.
Freemasonry is a reformulation of the knowledge possessed by that mysterious medieval order known as the
Knights Templar’s.
The Templar’s reached the zenith of their might in the thirteenth century, when they wielded great power not
only in the Holy Land but in Europe. But when Palestine fell back into Muslim hands in 1291, the Templar’s
lost their apparent reason for existence, and various powers, including the pope, made plans to consolidate
them with their rival order, the Knights Hospitallers. The Templar’s, perhaps over confident of their prestige,
did not maneuver very capably in this situation. Many were rounded up, tortured, and executed.
Not all the Templar’s fell into their enemies' hands. Many of the knights were never caught, and a large
Templar fleet consisting of eighteen ships at the French harbor of La Rochelle vanished before they could be
seized.

After this many Templar’s seem to have taken refuge in Scotland, whose king, Robert the Bruce, was at that
time under excommunication by Rome and was also fighting to keep his country free from English rule.
The Scottish cause was not faring well; the English had set up strongholds throughout much of Scotland,
and it seemed only a matter of time before the nation fell under England's sway.
But in 1314 the tide turned decisively. At the celebrated Battle of Bannockburn, Robert the Bruce routed
English forces two and a half times the size of his own, guaranteeing Scotland's independence for the next
300 years. Oddly enough, even here the battle seemed to be going against the Scots when at the last
moment a mysterious force came to their aid. Accounts of this event are garbled; the best-known version
says the camp followers of the Scottish army entered the fray, blowing horns and waving homemade flags.
Mistaking them for real reinforcements, the English panicked and fled.
The Knights' involvement in banking grew over time into a new basis for, as Templar’s became increasingly
involved in banking activities. One indication of their powerful political connections is that the Templar’s'
involvement in did not lead to more controversy within the Order and the church at large. The charge was
typically sidestepped, by a stipulation that the Templar’s retained the rights to the production of mortgaged
property.
The Templar’s' political connections and awareness of the essentially urban and commercial nature of the
Outremer communities naturally led the Order to a position of significant power, both in Europe and Holy
Land. Their success attracted the concern of many other orders and eventually that of the nobility and
monarchs of Europe as well, who were at this time seeking to monopolize control of money and banking
after a long chaotic period in civil society, especially the Church and its lay orders, had dominated financial
activities. The Templar’s' holdings were extensive both in Europe and the Middle East, including for a time
the entire island Cyprus.

On October 13, 1307, what may have been all the Knights Templar in France were simultaneously
arrested by agents of King Philip the Fair (Philippe le Bel), to later be tortured into admitting heresy in
the Order. (Some believe this act to be the origin of superstition regarding (Friday the 13th.) One view is
that Philip, who seized the treasury and broke up the monastic banking system, simply sought to control
it for himself. Due to his costly war with England at that time, it would seem to be intent of access to
finances for his costly war. These events, and the Templar’s' original banking of assets for suddenly
mobile depositors, were two of many shifts towards a system military fiat to back money, removing this
power from Church orders. Seeing the fate of the Templar’s, the Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem
and of Rhodes and of Malta were also convinced to give up banking at this time.
Many kings and nobles supported the Knights at that time, and only dissolved the order in their fiefs
when so commanded Robert the Bruce, King of the Scots, had already been excommunicated for other
reasons, and was therefore not disposed to pay heed to Papal commands. As a result many of the order
fled to Scotland and to Portugal, where the order's name was changed to "Order of Christ" and was
believed to have contributed to the first naval discoveries of the Portuguese.
The Scottish Templar’s aided King of Scots Robert the Bruce in his war against England, and helped to
declare Scotland independent. The Scottish Templar’s still exist today, and are the last connection to the
original Knights Templar. Former head of world Templar’s Baron Leuprecht willed the Order of
Scotland to be autonomous and superior in rank to all worldwide Templar’s.
This order then was lead by HSE Frank Sherry, and today by Chef Mondial Grand Prior General James
M McGrath.

Crusader Godfrey of Boulogne (1060-July 1100), DeBouillon, Duke of Lower Lorraine, later King of
Jerusalem. De Bouillon, Son of Eustace, Count Boulogne and Saint Ida of Provence. Godfrey had
Crusader brothers, Baldwin (Baldwin I of Jerusalem) and Eustace III. Godfrey is tall with yellow beard
and hair. He raises Crusading money by blackmailing Jews. One source says, Godfrey is buried beside
his brother Baldwin. Godfrey, a pious man, was not a greatly successful Duke of Lower Lorraine, which
title he had by appointment from Henry IV. Before he went Crusading, Godfrey was convinced he would
do well in the Holy Land, so he "burned his bridges at home", and sold his castle of Bouillon. Godfrey's
crusaders were from Flanders and Lorraine. He was chosen Protector of the Holy Sepulcher, and he was
chosen/elected by Crusaders as King of Jerusalem in 1099, an honor he declined.

Crusader Baldwin of Boulogne (1100-1118), De

Bouillon, Count Edessa, Baldwin I, first King of Jerusalem (crowned 9 November, 1100, ruling to
1118); son of Saint Ida of Provence. He had three wives, being Miss Unknown Melitene of Armenia;
Adelaide or Adelasia De Savona/Salona (as from a website) Countess of Sicily), and Godvere of Tosny.
(He has three wives in an Outremer table by Runciman, Vol. 2, table, being Godvere of Tosni;
daughter of Thatoul (Armenia?); Adelaide, Countess of Sicily. He is a cousin of Baldwin II de Bourg,
who succeeds him. He is crowned first King of Jerusalem on 9 November, 1100. He also became a
co-ruler of Armenia, these two brothers would claim decent from Charlemagne. In 1338 at the diets
of Rhense and Frankfurt the German Princes proclaimed the electors’ right to choose the Emperor
without papal intervention. The Golden Bull of 1356 issued by Emperor Charles IV reaffirmed this
and regulated the election procedure. Emperors continued to be crowned by the Pope until after the
coronation (1530) of the Emperor Charles V. Thereafter, following the precedent (1508) of Emperor
Maximilian I, they were Crowned at Frankfurt. Several early Emperors were also Crowned King of
Italy with the Iron Crown of the Lombards. After 1438 the Imperial office was held, with one
exception, by the House of Hapsburg. The Empire was justified by the claim that, just as the Pope was
the Vicar of God on earth in spiritual matters, so the Emperor was God’s temporal Vicar; hence he
claimed to be the supreme Temporal Ruler of Christendom. Actually, the power of the Emperor never
equaled his pretensions. Although the Emperors were accorded diplomatic precedence over other
Sovereigns Rulers, their Suzerainty early ceased over France, Italy, Denmark, Poland, and Hungary;
and their control over England, Sweden, and Spain was never more than nominal.
The authority of the Emperors in Italy and Germany was sometimes nonexistent, sometimes real. The
territorial limits of the Empire varied, but it generally included Germany, Austria, Bohemia and
Moravia, parts of Northern Italy, present-day Belgium, and, until 1648, the Netherlands and
Switzerland. Some countries (e.g., Hungary) were ruled by the Emperor or Imperial Prince but were
outside the Empire, while others (e.g., Flanders, Pomerania, Schleswig, and Holstein) were part of the
Empire but were Ruled by foreign Princes who held their lands in fief from the Emperor and took part
in the Imperial diet. When Otto I became Emperor, he renewed the traditions of the Carolingian
Empire that had been eroding for decades before Arnulf’s death. Otto’s Empire comprised the
German Duchies, Lorraine (or Lotharingia), Italy, and Burgundy, which had its own nominal King.
Burgundy was formally annexed in 1033. The Imperial position, however, was precarious from the
start. A conflict over the relationship between the Papacy and the Imperial Throne resulted in the
investiture controversy during the reign of Henry IV (1084–1105), who appointed Bishops to three
Sees already under the direction of Papal appointees. He was also suspected of tolerating simony and
other practices that the Pope was trying to curb. In 1076, Henry IV withdrew his obedience to Pope
Gregory VII and was excommunicated. Subsequent struggles between the Popes Alexander III,
Gregory IX, and Innocent IV and the Emperors Frederick I and Frederick II concerned papal
Sovereignty in Italy. The Papacy was victorious, and the Emperors ceased to interfere seriously with
Papal affairs except during the Great Schism of the 15th century, and in the Italian Wars of the 16th
century. Also untenable was the dual position of the Emperors as Rulers of Germany and of Italy;
geography as well as cultural and political conditions separated the two Countries. The defense of the
Empire against foreign attack was made more difficult by the repeated attempts of the Emperors to
maintain their authority in Italy against the opposition of the city-states the Papacy, and the petty
Princes. Frederick I failed to suppress the Lombard League, which had Papal support. Frederick II,

after inheriting Naples and Sicily, was primarily interested in Italian affairs; his conflict with the
Papacy produced the Feud between Guelph’s and Ghibellines throughout Italy and ruined the
Imperial Authority there. The death (1254) of Conrad IV, the last ruling Hohenstaufen, was
followed by an interregnum of 19 years. Opposing claimants to the Imperial Crown were unable to
exercise authority during this period, and the power of the Emperor declined considerably. The
Election (1273) of the Emperor Rudolf I as the first Hapsburg German King restored some order,
but after his death rival claimants renewed the strife. The effect of continued warfare and weak
monarchs increased the power of the German Princes, particularly the dukes of the great Duchies
of Bavaria, Saxony, Swabia, Franconia, Thuringia, and Upper and Lower Lorraine. The Golden
Bull of 1356 conceded the Princes’ dominance over the monarchy. The Emperors maintained some
authority against the nobles with the support of the towns and of the great Ecclesiastical Princes
(e.g., the archbishop-electors of Cologne, Mainz, and Trier), who were Imperial appointees. As the
German towns grew in wealth and power, they entered leagues for defense against the Nobles.
Since they acted as a counterbalance to the Nobility, they were generally favored by the Emperors,
who made them free Imperial cities with a voice in the diet.

The mysteries of this Great power to rule had been lost until the time came when they were to be
revieved once more. The Dragon Court was reformed once again in 1408 AD: by Emperor
Sigismund von Luxembourg King of Hungry who became Emperor of Roman Empire. But there is
at the fore front of this those that would say that the King of Hungry was not in the Royal
bloodline, but drew up a pact with twenty three royals and Nobles who swore to observe the true
and pure Fraternity with in Societas Draconis, known as the Order of the DRAGON, thus bringing
him into power to become the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. But some admit that the true

We might ask how the Templar’s turned into the Freemasons. To have a sense of this, we must
look at a small and quirky chapel a few miles south of Edinburgh, known as Rosslyn. It is on the
estate of the St. Clair or Sinclair family, and was built between 1441 and 1486. Though
ostensibly the private chapel of an aristocratic family, it has never served as such; the St. Clair’s'
chapel is in their house.
Moreover Rosslyn seems to possess an enormous number of non-Christian motifs. "The figure
that occurs most frequently," write Baigent and Leigh "is the 'Green Man' -- a human head with
vines issuing from its mouth and sometimes its ears, then spreading wildly, in tangled
proliferation, over the walls." Is this "Green Man" connected with "Baphomet," and Osiris the
bearded head that the Templar’s' enemies accused them of worshiping? Templar’s had
conducted excavations during their time in the Holy Land. Rosslyn even has two pillars, "the
apprentice's pillar" and "the Mason's pillar," which, according to Knight and Lomas, correspond
to the two pillars, Jachin and Boaz, of the Jerusalem Temple -- and of the Masonic lodge. See

But one of the most intriguing pieces of evidence from Rosslyn is a carving reproduced on page
26 of this issue. Knight claims that it portrays the astonishing scene of a first-degree Masonic
initiation -- conducted by a figure in Templar garb. Many modern Freemasons believe that their
organization is descended from the semi-literate working-class ritual practices of the medieval
guilds of stonemasons. It is an origin theory that is riddled with problems, yet it did seem to
explain the well-documented references to the early operative lodges of Scotland. The true
reason is more the reverse: it was speculative masons (Templar’s) who adopted operative
masons (stoneworkers) and introduced them to lower-level secrets concerning Solomon's
Temple.

The War of the Roses was a civil war in England that lasted from 1455-1487. These thirty
years of warfare were even more destructive to England than the Hundred Years War had
been in the previous century. (Most of the fighting in the Hundred Years War took place in
France, which meant most of the military damage affected the French peasantry rather than
the English. In the War of the Roses, most of the fighting occurred in England, and thus the
loss of life and property was much greater for English citizens.) It was a struggle between the
families descended through Edward III and the families descended from Henry IV to claim
the throne. The last Angevin ruler, King Richard II died without an heir. He had been
overthrown and murdered by Henry IV (Henry Bolingbroke, who was of the House of
Lancaster through his father John of Gaunt). Henry IV's descendants and their supporters
were the Lancastrian faction. The other branch, descended from Edward IV, were
associated with families in the North of England, particularly the House of York and Richard
of York. They are called the Yorkist faction.
The exact image of warring flowers was a late invention, and the general idea of each rose
being a factional symbol originates in Shakespeare’s day. In Renaissance literature, writers
linked the House of York with a white rose and the House of Lancaster with a red rose. For
instance, in Henry VI, Part One, Act II, scene iv, lines 25-135, Shakespeare depicts the minor
lords as choosing their factions symbolically by plucking either white or red roses from a
garden. The play dates back to 1592 or so. For instance, in lines 124-128, we read the
following: Warwick: And here I prophesy: this brawl today Grown to this faction in the
Temple garden, Shall send, between the Red Rose and the White. A thousand souls to death
and deadly night.
Henry VII ends the war of the roses, and he established the Court of the Star Chamber to
increase royal involvement in civil and criminal cases; and as an alternative to a revenue tax
disbursement from Parliament, he imposed forced loans and grants on the nobility. See link:

Upon Instituting the Star Chamber, by which means he was able to restrict the power of the
nobles, greatly increasing the power of the crown. He accumulated a vast fortune.
Henry's mistrust of the nobility derived from his experiences in the Wars of the Roses - a
majority remained dangerously neutral until the very end. His skill at by-passing Parliament
(and thus, the will of the nobility) played a crucial role in his success at renovating
government.

The power of the Emperors, however, had come to depend largely on the size and wealth
of the Emperors’ hereditary domains. Thus, the Luxemburg Emperors (Henry VII,
Emperor Charles IV, Wenceslaus, and Sigismund) and the Hapsburg Emperors concerned
themselves with their own lands to the detriment of the unity of the Empire. During the
reign of the Emperor Maximilian I (1493–1519) the conflict between the dynastic policy
of the Hapsburg Emperors and the interests of the German empire (then known as the
Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation) became pronounced.
James became the first Stuart king of England in 1603 under the terms of the Treaty of
Berwick which he had signed with Elizabeth I in 1586. The Treaty pledged allegiance
between the two countries and promised mutual help against invasion, thus protecting
England from France. And so James acquiesced to his mother's execution and remained
neutral when the Spanish Armada threatened English shores. As Scottish king he
consented to an act of parliament establishing Presbyterianism in Scotland and with
support he subdued the Roman Catholic earls.
The move to England came with the death of Elizabeth. On arrival he realized that he was
considered an alien and his strong opinions about the divine right of kings earned him a
reputation for narrow-mindedness and intellectual bullying. His tract Basilicon Doron
(meaning 'the kingly gift') was intended as an instruction manual to his eldest son, Prince
Henry, should the father die - after all, frequent attempts were made on James' life - but
the text was leaked and used as an example of James' dogma.
Yet despite his critics, James is considered a highly successful king. He made it clear that
he intended to radically change the Elizabethan church, heralding his cause with the
slogan, 'No bishop, no king!' Although this prompted Catholic reaction, such as the failed
Gunpowder plot, James was able to make a lasting impression on church history,
commissioning a version of the Bible that was to become the standard text for more than
250 years - the King James Bible. His run-ins with Parliament, which led for example to
the Addled Parliament in 1614, did not lead to serious rebellion. And in foreign policy he
was an arbitrator: he made peace with Spain and aspired to achieve even greater stability
throughout Europe, but his efforts were thwarted by Protestant opinion in Britain and
Spanish resistance. Further abroad, he reigned over the beginning of Empire and
authorized the Evangelistic Grant Charter to settle the Colony of Virginia.

By the early seventeenth century, Masonry begins to enter the public scene, and we
encounter records of lodge meeting in several Scottish towns. "The Rosicrucian
enlightenment," or, alternatively, these esoteric dimensions simply became better-

government and dominion of the gods, that they are the Lords of the land and masters

In the Thirty Years War (1618–48) the Emperor, Allied with Spain, opposed the
Protestant Princes, who were allied chiefly with Sweden and France. The struggle ended
with the virtual dissolution of the Empire in the Peace of Westphalia (1648), which

One of the most important Freemasons secrets is the story of Atlantis and its effect

1763 The American Revolution. Freemasonry took on its modern role in

Great Britain at the beginning of the eighteenth century. The first Grand Lodge
was formed in London in 1717. By mid-century, English Masonry was strong
enough to provide inspiration and example to a worldwide movement. Although
Masonry first appeared in the North American colonies in the 1730s, it grew
slowly until mid-century, when membership suddenly picked up. By the eve of the
Revolution there were dozens of lodges up and down the continent. Many of the
revolutionary leaders, including Washington, Franklin, Samuel Adams, Otis,
Richard Henry Lee, Madison, and Hamilton, were members of the fraternity. The
Revolution disrupted the organization but revitalized the movement; in the
following decades Masonry exploded in numbers, fed by hosts of new recruits
from deeper levels of the society. There were twenty-one lodges in Massachusetts
by 1779; in the next twenty years fifty new ones were created, reaching out to
embrace even small isolated communities on the frontiers of the state.
Everywhere the same expansion took place. Masonry transformed the social
landscape of the early Republic.
In 1717, a United Grand Lodge

was formed in London, using Dr. John Anderson's Constitution 1723 to
standardize the rituals and practices of Freemasonry. It was from this
constitution that the Masonic tales of Hiram Abiff, King Solomon's Master
Builder, along with the pyramid style organizational model would date. Some
Masons, however, calling themselves "Ancients" refused to acknowledge the
regency of the Grand Lodge. The division between Ancient and Modern

Freemasonry existed in colonial Boston, with many of the Modern adherents

being Loyalists. Where Freemasonry's influence is certain to be seen is in the
moral education and belief in brotherhood and liberty.
"On 8 December 1730, Benjamin Franklin printed in his newspaper, The

Pennsylvania Gazette, the first documented notice about Freemasonry in North
America. Franklin's article, which consisted of a general account of
Freemasonry, was prefaced by the statement that 'there are several Lodges of
FREE MASONS erected in this Province'... Franklin himself became a
Freemason in February 1731, and Provincial Grand Master of Pennsylvania in
1734. That same year, he ushered into print the first Freemasonic book to be
published in America, and edition of Anderson's Constitutions...the Bible for

"'One of the most influential figures in the American Revolution was the writer,
philosopher and scientist Benjamin Franklin. He was a Quaker but had become
a Freemason when he joined the Lodge of St. John in Philadelphia, which was
the first recognized Masonic lodge in America. At the time he was inducted
Franklin was working as a journalist and he wrote several pro-Masonic articles
which were published in The Pennsylvania Gazette. In 1732 he helped draft the
by laws of his lodge and in 1734 he printed the Constitutions which was the first
Masonic book ever issued in America. He eventually rose to Grand Master of
the St. John's lodge and in 1749 was elected Grand Master of the Province.
While in France in the 1770s, as a diplomat for the American colonies, Franklin
was made Grand Master of the Nine Sisters Lodge in Paris. Members of the
Lodge included Danton, who was to play a crucial role in the French
Revolution, the Marquis de Lafayette and Paul Jones, both of whom fought in
the American War of Independence. While in Paris Franklin used his Masonic
contacts to raise funds to buy arms for the American rebels.'"
King George III (known as the king who lost America), was born in 1738. King
George III's father, the Prince of Wales died when he was young. When George
III was 22, in 1760, his grandfather, George II, died. On September 8th, 1761 he
married Princess Charlotte Sophia from Mecklenburg-Strelitz, in Germany and
on September 22nd, 1761, George III became the King of England.
Historians will usually note that the French and Indian War was actually a
small portion of what is known as the Seven Years War. This is not entirely
correct. While the Seven Years War, and the French and Indian War were
related, in fact the French and Indian War being the beginning of the Seven

Years War, the conflict in America was more closely tied to the unsettled
feelings left over from King George's War (1744-1748). After the treaty of
Aix-la-Chapelle finished that earlier war, the hatred between the French and
the English in the Americas never quite waned. It must be understood, that
in 1755 France held most of America. King George III sat upon the throne of
England from 1760-1820. It was on his watch that the American colonies
were lost. King George III, after the French and Indian War, had large debts
to pay, and thought he could extract the necessary money from the colonies.
King George was incensed when the insolent American colonists objected to
the taxes being levied, particularly the Stamp Act. When the Stamp Act was
repealed, King George flew into a rage. King George thought the colonists
should be dealt with harshly for their disobedience and insolence. Using his
profound influence, he pushed through the Townshend Acts, in 1766, taxing
many commodity items including tea resulting in the infamous Boston Tea
Party. King George was eventually humbled as the American colonies
successfully became the United States Of America. Other colonies began to
rebel after America's success and King George remained embroiled in one
conflict or another for many years.
On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of

Independence declaring the colonies free and independent states.
"Franklin, was also a Rosicrucian Grand Master, who

was at the heart of the Illuminati operations to take over America and
replace the visible control of the British Empire with the invisible control of
the secret brotherhood, the most effective and ongoing form of mastering
the underclass. It is said the Illuminati, via the Freemasons, controlled and
manipulated both sides in the American War of Independence and were also
deeply connected with the French Revolution (1789). "Franklin was Agent 72
of the British intelligence agency created by Dr. John Dee and Francis Bacon

postmasters, together were able to control and disseminate intelligence
better than the military. Postmaster at this point in history meant spymaster
as the postmasters controlled the movement of information." "On
September 1, 1752, a new lodge of Masons held its first meeting in
Fredericksburg and soon attracted members. Under Daniel Campbell as
Master, a class of five was initiated on November 4. George Washington, one
of this group, paid his initiation fee of £23s, as an Entered Apprentice. "The
journey had shown that the President was as popular in the Southern States
as he was in Federalist New England. On the tour he received at least
twenty-three addresses. Particularly noticeable were the addresses from
Lodges of Free Masons. This probably had no other significance other than it

Washington as a brother. His answers, in turn, were in good Masonic
terms, with no casualness in his references to his membership in the
Order.
In 1791, Washington chose Washington , D.C. in 1791 and commissioned

Pierre Charles L'Enfant, a French engineer, to create a plan for the
physical layout of the city, with the Capitol as the center of the city. "He
took the road for the relatively brief ride to the Federal City. It was
September 18, 1794, the date for laying the cornerstone of the Capitol.
The President found the splendor of music and drums, of flying colors, of
many Masons in their symbolic regalia, of happy spectators generally. It
was a memorable affair for the Masonic Order, magnified by
Washington's participation as a member." "On 4 February 1789,
Washington was elected first president of the United States and John
Adams his vice-president. The inauguration was on 30 April. The oath
was administered by Robert Livingston, Grand Master of New York's
Grand Lodge...The marshal of the day was another Freemason, General
Jacob Morton. Yet another Freemason, General Morgan Lewis, was
Washington's escort... Washington himself at the time was Master of
Alexandria Lodge No. 22, Virginia... On 14 December, Alexander
Hamilton submitted proposals for establishing a National Bank. Jefferson
opposed them but Washington signed them through. On the American
dollar bill was printed the 'Great Seal' of the United States. It is
unmistakably Freemasonic - an all seeing eye in a triangle above a
thirteen-stepped, four-sided pyramid, beneath which a scroll proclaims
the advent of a 'new secular order,' one of Freemasonry's long-standing

Dimensions, an Act for which He formally Perpetuated the full
resumption of the Old Empire, its Imperial Patrimony, Sovereign
Rights, Prerogatives, Pretensions and Institutions etc., and thus
formally Claimed, Pertained and Perpetuated the Formal Act of
Instauration of the Imperial Sovereign Title, Electoral Office,
Imperial Throne and Crown, for Himself, His Heirs and Descendants
of His Body in Universal Perpetuity.
In 1804, Holy Roman Emperor Francis II took the Imperial Title

Francis I, Emperor of Austria, and after the establishment (1806) of
the Confederation of the Rhine under Napoleon I, Francis renounced
His Imperial Title as Holy Roman Emperor. After the fall of Napoleon
no attempt was made to restore the Empire, the Illegal suspension of
the Empire by the Emperor Francis II, on the sixth of August, 1806,
following the Emperors Abdication and formal Renunciation of the
Imperial Title and Crown, for Himself, His Heirs and Descendants,
laid the Holy Roman Empire of The German Nation and The Imperial
Title , Crown and Throne dormant. For the two years between 1804
and 1806 Francis used the title and style by the grace of God elected
Roman Emperor, always August, hereditary Emperor of Austria and
he was called the Emperor of both Germany and Austria.

The plan of Washington D.C., drawn up in 1791 by

Charles L Enfant and Andrew Ellicott, on the
instructions of George Washington, set the theme for the
building on the new city. The marker was layed with
Masonic honors. By contrast, the astrological conditions
pertaining to the ritual of the cornerstone were rarely
made public. This was nothing to do with Masonic
secrecy, it was merely continuation of an ancient
tradition. On the who, only specialists such as
astrologers were interested in the validity of foundation
charts. They might be consulted and hired to draw up a
chart for a propitious moment, but their deliberations
were usually too arcane to attract public notice. although
a survey of the foundation charts used in the early phase
of the building of Washington D.C. reveals the important
role in early Masonic rites, the rationale of astrology was

Knowledge of the stars--in so far as they were
understood in Masonic circles, and were reserved as

residence Act or 1790 gave him the power to establish
