1. The chart shows the student expenditure (aged under 26 in higher education) United

Kingdom.

2. There are eight components identified in student expenditure and these are,

accommodation, food, bills and household goods, essential travel, non-essential travel,

children, course expenditure entertainment, and other factors. During 1996 the highest

expenditure was entertainment of approximately 26 percent and the least was children of

almost 2 percent. Similarly in 1999, the entertainment remained increased for about 31

percent and children’s factor was totally vanished.

3. Over three years, the entertainment ranked as top one with the most increasing

percentage of student expenditure. It predicts that most people at this time were

encountering several circumstances, in order to cope up with the stressors they disport

their selves in various activities. On the other hand, the children’s outgo depleted from

nearly 2 percent to 0 percent throughout the three years. Perhaps, parents at this time are

more meticulous in giving allowance to their kids.

3 Describing Trends

1. Throughout the year 1996 to 1999, student saved well-nigh 2 % on food, bills and

household goods, which decline from 20 % to almost 18 % of total expenditure.

2. Closely 2 % reduced in consuming on food, bills and household goods, which

depreciate from 20 % to around 18 %.

3. Allocating on food, bills and household goods shrink down by approximately 2 % from

20 to more or less 18 %.
