Cv = Flow of water in GPM with 1 psi

pressure drop across the valve.

Example:
A 1" globe valve will flow 10.9 GPM
compared with 82 GPM for the same size
ball valve, therefore to achive the same
flow, the globe valve will require
approximately 7.5 psi as opposed to 1 psi
for the ball valve.
