Local Production of School of Rock Seeks Young Rock Musicians

Waukesha, WI, March 08, 2018 --(PR.com)-- They say music education provides benefits to learning
and brain growth. Here's another fun benefit to all those music lessons: a chance to show off those skills
to a live audience.

A local production of School of Rock the Musical is looking for five young musicians to round out their
onstage band roles. According to one member of the production team, there's no faking allowed. “Playing
live is a requirement,” explains Jes Sudbrink, “it is in our contract with the licensing company.”

The most notable role is Dewey, who plays electric and acoustic guitar, and also tackles vocals like a true
rock icon. Directors are looking for a boy aged 16-18 to play the part. The rest of the roles are classroom
children, and should be much younger. Between the ages of 10-13 is preferred, but an older child could
play the roles, if needed. Katie is the show's bass guitarist. Lawrence plays the keyboard. On drums is
Freddie, and on electric guitar is Zack. It should be noted that everyone auditioning must be age 18 or
younger.

The onstage youth band are not the only ones rocking to the show's score. School of Rock will feature a
seven-piece professional pit band - and they are the only adults allowed in the production. “It's an
opportunity for these kids to shine,” says the show's director, Jacob Sudbrink, “they are too young to play
most gigs, so they don't often get a chance like this to show off what they can do.”

The show will rehearse in Waukesha. There will be 6 public performances in Pewaukee from July 27
through August 4.

Auditions for these roles will be held at Sudbrink Performance Academy on March 26 and 29. Auditions
for all other roles will be April 8 and 9. Anyone auditioning should sign up for an audition time prior to
the audition date.
