The Origin of city Bayuwangi

Once upon a time, there was a local ruler named King Sulahkromo thing. Prime Minister King
has named Raden Sidopekso. Prime Minister 's wife has named Sri Tanjung. She is so beautiful
and sweet that the king wanted her to be his wife. One day, the King sent the Prime Minister
for long missions. While the Prime Minister went, the King tried to get Sri Tanjung. But the king
failed.

He was very angry and upset. So, when Sidopekso back, the King told him that his wife was
unfaithful to him. Prime Minister is very angry with his wife. Sri Tanjung said that was not true.
However, Sidopekso said that he would kill her. She took him to the river bank.

Before he killed him and threw him into the river, he said that he will be proven innocent, Once
Sidopekso kill him, he threw his body into the river dirty. River soon became clean and start
spreading the wonderful aroma and very fragrant. Sidopekso said, "... Banyu Wangi...
Banyuwangi ". It means ' fragrant water '. Banyuwangi proof of love born of noble and sacred.
That's the origin of the town of Banyuwangi.

Nepal rescuers find 3 bodiesnear crashed US Marine

Nepalese rescuers on Friday found three bodies near the wreckage of a U.S. Marine helicopter
that disappeared earlier this week while on a relief mission in the earthquake-hit Himalayan
nation, officials said.
Nepal’s Defense Secretary Iswori Poudyal gave no details about the nationalities of the victims.
The helicopter was carrying six Marines and two Nepalese army soldiers.
The wreckage was found near Gothali village in the district of Dolakha.
The U.S. Embassy in Nepal had no immediate comment Friday.
The discovery of the wreckage, first spotted by a Nepalese army helicopter Friday, followed
days of intense search involving U.S. and Nepalese aircraft and even U.S. satellites.
The U.S. relief mission was deployed soon after a magnitude-7.8 quake hit April 25, killing more
than 8,200 people. It was followed by another magnitude-7.3 quake on Tuesday that killed 117
people and injured 2,800.
The second quake was centered between Kathmandu and Mount Everest, and hit hardest in
deeply rural parts of the Himalayan foothills, hammering many villages reached only by hiking
trails and causing road-blocking landslides.
BEING LATE
Last morning, Dinar, my roommate woke up late and she had to go to campus.
When she wanted to take her motorcycle, in fact she couldn’t move it because there were
some motorcycles that blocked up her motorcycle.
She tried to move all of the motorcycles, so that her motorcycle could move from the garage.
But she couldn’t do it.
Then, she called Adel who had that motorcycle which blocked it up. After that, her friend who
had that motorcycle helped her. Finally, she could move her motorcycle and rode it to go to
campus.

The Phone was Off

Soon after he left college, Dave found one of his uncles who was very rich and had no children
of his own died and left him a lot of money, so he decided to set up his own real estate agency.
Dave found a nice office. He bought some new furniture and moved in. he had only been there
for e few hours when he heard someone coming toward the door of his office.
“It must be my first customer” Dave thought. He quickly picked up the telephone and
pretended to be very busy answering an important call from someone in New York who wanted
to buy a big and expensive house in the country.
The man knocked at the door while this was going on. He came in and waited politely for Dave
to finish his conversation on the phone. Then the man said to Dave; “I am from the telephone
company and I was sent here to connect your telephone”

Badminton
Badminton is a racket sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing
pairs (doubles), who take positions on opposite halves of a rectangular court divided by a net.
Players score points by striking a shuttlecock with their racquet so that it passes over the net
and lands in their opponents’ half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once

My Classmate, Yuta
Yuta is one of the 150 International students at the ELC of Brigham Young University. He is from Japan.
He grew up in Japan, and he is 19 years old. There are six people in his family, a father, a mother, three
sisters and himself. He is the youngest in his family. He is also the only boy in his family, but now he is in
Provo, Utah, studying English. Yuta likes the United States very much and he thinks everything is cheap.
Yuta thinks his English classes are excellent and the teachers are professionals. Yuta thinks someone in
his class is noisy so he doesn't like that. In his free time he spends too much time sleeping, so it seems
that he has a sleeping sickness.

Students' Laptop
Conventionally, students need book, pen, eraser, drawing book, ruler and such other stuff. Additionally,
in this multimedia era, students need more to reach their progressive development. Students need
mobile keyboards to record every presented subject easily. Of course it will need more cost but it will
deserve for its function.
First, modern schools tend to apply fast transferring knowledge because the school needs to catch the
target of curriculum. Every subject will tend to be given in demonstrative method. Consequently
students need extra media cover the subject. Since there is a laptop on every student’s desk, this
method will help student to get better understanding.

Secondly, finding an appropriate laptop is not difficult as it was. Recently there is an online shop which
provides comprehensive information. The best is that the shop has service of online shopping. The
students just need to brows that online shop, decide which computer or laptop they need, and then
complete the transaction. After that the laptop will be delivered to the students' houses. That is really
easy and save time and money.

From all of that, having mobile computer is absolutely useful for students who want to catch the best
result for their study.

The Importance of Reading

I personally think that reading is a very important activity in our life. Why do I say so?
Firstly, by reading we can get a lot of knowledge about many things in the world such as
Science, technology, sports, arts, culture, etc written in either books, magazine, newspaper, etc.
Secondly, by reading we can get a lot of news and information about something happening in
any parts of the world which can we see directly.
Another reason, reading can give us pleasure too. When we are tired, we read books, novel,
comic, newspaper or magazine on the entertainment column such as comedy, short story, quiz,
etc. To make us relaxed.
The last, reading can also take us to other parts of the world. By reading a book about Irian Jaya
we may feel we’re really sitting in the jungles not at home in our rooms.
From the facts above, it’s obvious that everyone needs to read to get knowledge, information
and also entertainment. Or in summary we can say reading is truly important in our life.

National Exam: Pro and Contra?

National exam becomes the hot topic in most of discussions among students, teachers, and
parents. Some people believe that national exam is not necessary for students as a requirement
to be able graduate from a school. In other hand, other people see national exam as an
important indicator to know whether students have mastered all school materials or not. The
debate among society about national examination goes on until now.

For people who agree, national exam is necessary for students as a requirement to graduate
from a school. People who support the national exam explain that the quality of the Indonesia
education will drop without the national exam, so they try to defend the current system. They
also think that national examination can motivate students to study harder.
However there are people who disagree with the opinion. Those who against this national exam
kept in school education say that it doesn't need the national exams because the quality of
education does not just depend on the national exam. Further, the national exam only
measures a small portion of students' competence in specific subjects, and does not measure
students' competences throughout the semester.

In conclusion, national examination can still be useful as an instrument to evaluate or detect

the level of students' cognitive competence in several subjects, on a national scale. However, it
is not fair if only national exam score that judge whether students pass or not. Government
should make a regulation that national exam is not the only requirement for students to
graduate. There should be other requirements added such as students’ daily score, behavior,
and achievement.

Tsunami

The term of “tsunami” comes from the Japanese which means harbor ("tsu") and wave
("nami"). A tsunami is a series of waves generated when water in a lake or the sea is rapidly
displaced on a massive scale.

A tsunami can be generated when the sea floor abruptly deforms and vertically displaces the
overlying water. Such large vertical movements of the earth's crust can occur at plate
boundaries. Subduction of earthquakes are particularly effective in generating tsunamis, and
occur where denser oceanic plates slip under continental plates.

Tsunami always bring great damage. Most of the damage is caused by the huge mass of water
behind the initial wave front, as the height of the sea keeps rising fast and floods powerfully
into the coastal area.

Orientation:
Merry Riana is a successful young woman entrepreneur, writer, and motivator. Her life’s story is told in a
movie, Merry Riana “Million Dollar Dream”, which is adapted from her book with the same title. This
film visualizes her struggle to survive from difficulty of life and become successful.

Evaluation:
The violence that happened in Jakarta and other big cities in Indonesia in May 1998 makes Merry Riana
forced to flee to Singapore. Merry Riana’s father decided to send his daughter to Singapore because he
was afraid of the unsafe condition. She went alone to Singapore with the support money that was only
enough to buy food for five days. Fortunately, Merry Riana met with her best friend, Irene, who wanted
to go to university in the there, too. With Irene’s help, Merry could live in a boarding house. She was
also accepted in one of the best college there. But, it could only be reached if Merry paid $40,000. The
only hope was to take a loan college student that could only be obtained if Merry had a guarantor.
Then, Merry met her senior, Alva, who was very reckoning. He gave many requirements before he finally
agreed to help Merry. He also had Merry look for side job. Merry realized that she should be successful
as soon as possible. She did various work, from spreading online business brochure, until playing withe
high risky shares. The condition of her economy was moving up and down. Problem of love also
occurred when Alva expressed his feeling to Merry. Meanwhile, Merry knew it well that Irene fell in love
with Alva.

Interpretation:
The acting of Chelsea Islan (Merry Riana) in thit movie is very good. She can impersonate Merry Riana’s
character very well. But, it would be better if there was no kissing scene.

Summary:
I think this is an inspirational movie which can motivate people to be successful at young age. It brings
good spirit for young men in Indonesia. The script writer is successful to bring a set of interesting
conflicts which make the plot of this movie become alive.
