UNPACKING AND INSTALLATION

Open Machine from Wooden Box taking proper care to avoid breakage of any parts.

Open Stretch Bubble Pack Sheet carefully. If using a knife to open it, ensure to avoid any
breakage of wires inside and scratches on the powder coated body.

Place the machine on a smooth and even surface.

APPLICATION

The Bending Test Apparatus is used to check whether the sample withstands Bending load. This
is one of the mechanical properties which need to be checked for the stress likely to occur during
Installation etc. as per the given standard.

NOTE : This test is to be carried out only on Conduit Pipes of 16mm, 20mm & 25mm.

1.0 TEST PROCEDURE

1.1 Place the Bending Test Apparatus on an firm & even surface

1.2 Take 6 Nos. pipe samples of 500mm long.

1.3 3 Nos. samples are to be tested for bending test at normal room temperature

1.4 Select the bending tools as per pipe sample.

1.5 Insert Bending spring inside the pipe sample before positioning it on the Bending

Test Apparatus.

1.6 Position the pipe sample to be tested on the Bending Test Apparatus and bend
the pipe at 180°.

1.7 Let the pipe remain in above position for 2 hours and after completion of two
hours, check the pipe sample for any cracks visible normally or after
magnification.

1.8 Take other 3 Nos. samples for testing at low temperature.

1.9 Repeat point no. 1.4 & 1.5 above.

1.10 After bending the pipe at 180°, place the bending apparatus along with the
sample for conditioning at -5°C ± 2°C in freezer for two hours.

1.11 After two hours check the pipe sample for any cracks visible normally or after
magnification.

1.12 The samples without any cracks, visible normally or after magnification, shall
pass the test.

Note:
1
The size of Bending Aid (Spring) will be ≤ 0.7mm to 1.0mm of the specified minimum inside diameter of the
conduit pipe.
