MONDAY—EVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 16-19
Monday, March 12
† Isa. 44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry
ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
Gracious God of Grace:
Do so! The first blessing, I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, is explained
by the next word, I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring.
This is a promise I can claim right now, because it has already been given! The
Holy Ghost is permanently resident in me and with me since I trusted Jesus for
eternal life. I pray now for his outpouring! And if my language is not accurate, at
least my heart is excellent. Anoint me to proclaim the gospel today.
I beg for your Holy Spirit to be poured-out on our church, on our ministers
and in our ministries as we prepare for Easter and outreach. I long—as do so
many others—to be completely subject to the Spirit’s call, and filled with his
power so I can be full of faith.
! I want to see the Holy Spirit poured on those who are dead in trespasses
and sins. So Lord, save __________ and __________!
! I want him poured on the depressed so they can find comfort
! I want him poured on the ignorant so they can be enlightened
! I want him poured on the seekers so they can find my Savior!
Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how
much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
I have your word for this promise. I place my hand on it, and on bended
knee, I beg you to do as you’ve said. Give me the Holy Ghost in revival. Bring
me to the place I see there are no limits to your power, simply because I have his
outpouring. Do it not because I deserve it, but because Jesus purchased it for me
on the cross, and I ask for it as your child. Do it in his name. Amen.

TUESDAY—FOCUS ON CHRIST’S MIRACLES
Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 20-23
Tuesday, March 13
John 4:53-54 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus
said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house. This is again the
second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
Miraculous Master and Lord:
Make this true of all the families in our church: himself believed, and his whole
house. I can just imagine what happened when the nobleman got home from
appealing to Jesus. I see the joy that sparkled from his wife’s eyes, because her
son was alive! To what must she attribute this miraculous healing?
Make the same process that works in the husbands of our church be at
work in the wives and the children! Make the same process working in some of
the wives be at work in the husbands and the kids. Just let Jesus say, Thy son liveth,
and it is so. Oh Lord, that we could see more and more people believe Jesus is
the Son of God through our network of family, friends and neighbors!
The nurse said, “I sat up with the boy.” The Doctor said, “There was no
hope; he was already gone.” The mother said, “I could not go to sleep fearing I
would find him dead when I awoke. I watched him until I could watch my eyes
away—and right at the seventh hour yesterday I saw a change! The fever broke
immediately and completely, and he came out of his coma happy.” Make us see
this continually in our ministries, just so Jesus will be praised! Cure complete
households as well as individuals.
Please, Sir! Work some such wonder in every family in our church. They are
groaning under a burden of grief, Lord. Give even one of them such relief, it
makes the rest believe in Jesus’ power to save! May our children believe in Jesus
while they are small, and may all who belong to our extended families also belong
to God. Do this by your Spirit for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
FRIDAY— CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 31-34
Friday, March 16
Isa. 66:8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be
made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed,
she brought forth her children.
Glorious King:
AS SOON AS ZION TRAVAILED. We see a desire for revival in our church.
Everywhere we go people mourn over the state of society and violence, and say
to one another, “When will the answer come? How can we get it? What new
legislation, seminar, or book is there? Why don’t we make more of an impact on
the lost to change it? When will our churches be filled?”
AS SOON AS ZION TRAVAILED. We are always glad when we hear those
questions because they show a sign of spiritual anxiety. Make it grow! Give us a
spirit of desire about the cause of Christ’s kingdom, and the perishing children of
men. To have the anxious question is a good omen.
2 Sam. 5:24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the
mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to
smite the host of the Philistines.
AS SOON AS ZION TRAVAILED. Searching the heart, anguished groaning,
and abounding interceding are all the heralds of blessing. They are the sound in
the tops of the trees, calling us to rouse ourselves in hope of victory. May the
movement of your Spirit among us continue to deepen in us, until it calls out a
movement among sinners far and wide. Be pleased to send saving health among
the people in our network, and turn many to righteousness by your word. It must
look expectantly to him to work in our midst on the way to working among
family and friends! Do it to give us great power for your Eternal Purpose. Amen.
WEDNESDAY—REVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 24-27
Wednesday, March 14
Ezek. 20:43 And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye
have been defiled; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have
committed.
Precious Lord and Eternal Friend:
I know I loathe my sin more now than when I first got saved. Every day I
have to repent of my failures and shortcomings. They shame your graciousness;
they prove my unworthiness, and you do not overlook them now that I am born
again. Each sin now is as much a part of what nailed Christ to the cross as any sin
I committed before trusting Jesus as Lord.
That is why confession is so precious. That is why repentance is a diamond
among attitudes. That is why devotion is the prelude to revival.
If this verse says anything at all, it teaches me the God who accepts
repentance also gives it. It is not something I can conjure-up in myself. I pray
for a repentant heart, because I know revival comes from you.
I need it now, and I am deathly afraid if you do not grant it I will become
hard, and my heart will get calloused. I never want that. Make me always sensitive
to sin so I can be humble, and give up self and give up pride. Your mercies are all
undeserved! Shower them like rain to melt my heart of stone.
Am I feeling hard? Remind me of your love. Because if I can clearly see
your love then I will leave sin, lament sin, and loathe sin. Yea, I loathe myself for
sinning against your infinite love.
There is a promise of penitence in this verse. Help me to remember, to
repent, and to regret…but then always to return—and return with the same fresh
joy as when I first got saved. What a relief to find water spewing from the rock of
your love! I rejoice for it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
SATURDAY—IN THE PSALMS

Saturday, March 17
Psa. 40:16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy
salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
Heavenly Lord, Redeemer, and Friend:
What riches of grace! How far the reaches of grace! In his bitterest hour
Jesus remembered the lambs of his flock. As I listen-in, what does he ask for me?
John 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you,
and that your joy might be full.
Jesus, you make all who seek you happy, because they find in you exactly
what they seek: peace in their grief. As deep as the canyon of your sorrows, that is
how high you want my joys. You groaned so I can sing. You were covered in
bloody sweat so I can be anointed with the oil of gladness.
My sins are innumerable, but so were your griefs! You had no sin, but my
own sins were laid on you (2 Cor. 5:21). You took them as yours, though they
separated you from your Father. Oh, what would my sins have done to me
eternally if the Friend of sinners had not stooped to load them on himself?
There are many beneficial results of your passion on the cross. Another is
the promotion of your glory by all who delight in your salvation. And now, your
wish should be my joy to accomplish, and your will should be my command! I
love you with all my heart, so give me many opportunities to get people under the
sound of the gospel this weekend.
The grand result of your atoning death is this: my consecration to serve
heaven. That is the joy that was set before him (Heb. 12:2). The reward to Jesus of his
suffering and sacrifice is seeing God glorified through my life. Help me display
it more thoroughly and proclaim it more consistently as I go through this day.
Make me a shining light reflecting your glory, Jesus. Amen.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
Fern Stone the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
“Oh,” says one, “I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer.” And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into God’s presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayer—the posture, the
time, place—rather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
