The Celtics were look-
ing to construct a team
for now and into the
future with seven rook-
ies and one second year
player. There is pres-
sure for the young
Celtics players on the
team to step up to
make a deep playoff
run. But with Gordan
Hayward going down,
they had to step up
even more and the rise
to the challenge.

Jaylen Brown
The Celtics 2016 third round draft
pick had a good rookie season with a
couple of spot starts and coming off
the bench . He finished the year with
6.6 pts per game, 34.3 3p%, and 2.8
rebs per. This year he has risen to
new highs in his starting role as a
shooting guard replacing Avery
Bradley. He has improved 9.4 pts
per game, 36,2 3p%, and 3.8 rebs
while still making many memorable
dunks on the way.
Jayson Tatum
The anticipated 3rd round pick out
of Duke has shown why Danny
Ainge made the right move trading
down for him. He began the year in
the starting line-up and has been very
impressive so far averaging 13.5
pts,13.5 pts, 43.8 3pt%, and 5.5 rebs
while also becoming the 3rd scoring
option after Hayward went down.
Semi Ojeleye
Celtics 2nd pick out of SMU was not ex-
pected to make a difference this season.
He has been a nice defensive piece off
the bench with Gordan Hayward going
down and Marcus Morris out for most of
the first half of the season. In the
minutes he played, he had 2.4 pts, 31
3p%, and 1.8 rebs.
Daniel Theis
Rookie in the NBA but not in profession-
al Basketball, Daniel previously played
in Germany before being signed by the
Celtics early this summer. He has be-
come an important big man that spreads
the floor and a role player off the bench
were he has averaged 4.9 pts, 31.9 3p%,
and 4.3 rebs.
Abdel Nader
Celtics 2016 2nd round, played in the D-
league were he was a stand out becom-
ing the Rookie of the year. As a Celtic,
he has not played in every game but has
been productive in the time he has getting
2.2 pts, 38.5 3p%, and 0.9 rebs.
Guerschon Yabusele
2016 1st round draft who played over-
seas in France were he was an all-star.
Hiis game has not transferred over to
the NBA yet , but he has only played
in a limited amount of games. In those
games he has averaged 1.6 pts, 35
3p%, and 1.5 rebs.
Jabari Bird
Celtics 2nd pick and college teammate
of Jaylen Brown has only 4 games as a
Celtic while splitting time with Celtics
D-League team, the Maine Red-Claws.
In his time as a Celtic he has averaged
1.3 pts, 0.3 ast, and 0.5 rebs.
Kadeem Allen
Celtics 2nd round pick has only played
in 4 games while splitting time with
the Maine Red Claws. As a Celtic,
Kadeem has averaged 0.8 pts, 0.2 stl,
and 0.5 rebs.
