Safety

All full time learners complete their Health & Safety Level 1
qualification before they commence other
qualifications. We have a designated Health & Safety
Manager who ensures we are fully compliant with Health &
Safety legislation. We have a trained designated person for
safeguarding children in each of our centres and also a
Senior Designated Person at Head Office. All staff attend
regular training and courses regarding safeguarding and
child protection through Local Safeguarding Children Boards.
Attendance will be monitored to your specifications

Transition Strategies

Not only does COOL provide our learners with new skills and
accreditation; alongside accreditation support our team
offers vital social, emotional and behavioural support. We
also help our learners develop their CV and plan
opportunities for the future, empowering them to broaden
their horizons and think 'outside of the box'. We work closely
with organisations such as YPS to ensure young people have
a smooth transition onto further education / employment or
training.

I started at COOL UK (Flixton) in March 2007. When I started I wasn't
interested and my attendance was poor. If I was upset or angry the
staff would talk to me and listen to what I had to say, they also gave
me space. This helped me feel respected and respectful – Ben

“Your students were unanimous that you, your colleagues and your
organisation gave them more respect than they have received from

In this way, the school has been able to extend the range of subjects
and activities it can offer, especially in vocational learning and in
recreational pursuits. One such example is the very good link with Cool
