Significance of Business in Philippine Angle and Milieu

Amplifying trades, escalating rate of money, emerging competition of markets,

emboldening manpower, and clash among commodities are certainly the upshots and effects of the
materializing business resting on the country’s vanity surface. In the last centuries, the world had
been moulded like a piece of clay by the hands of royalties, authorities in might and power,
audacious navigators, painstakingly- persistent slaves, commoners, peasants, and most of all,
MERCHANTS. Before any colonialism encroached in the country, it is believed that Filipinos had
already the buzz and guts when it comes to trade which is why they are with high prospect and
compelling vision of future in the apex of business. Born in a native land where a bunch of diverse
resources inflates, they were adept with furious desire for prosperity. Because of its country’s
unique geographical features, they have realized that linkages should bring forth the mutual
interdependence among islands through sails bringing crops, yields, and cargos. But when the
invaders crossed the seas, the outlook towards business flourished. Filipinos became sharp and
quick in the field of trade and industry which made them guzzled how relevant business is.

The significance of business in the Philippine perspective can be viewed in two different
levels; the MACRO and MICRO level. In the Macro level, business is perceived as a vessel that
carry the country’s identity in the international business arena. Commercial empires elevate the
quality and quantity of every single product so it can fit in the constricted standards outside.
Filipinos strive to be acknowledged for an exceptional appraisal when it comes to wit,
resourcefulness, and creativity. Hence, they embroider Filipino values and colours into their crafts.
Moreover, it has been a sparkling goal to manufacture locally-grounded and Filipino-inspired
products for the world. Business has become a way in which the nation can cater a wide-span of
opportunities to its struggling multitudes. When some foreign investors established their respective
companies, corporations, occupational abodes, the rate of unemployment dropped down to a
smaller scale. Thus, it helped the country wake up from being a slumbering ogre into soaring
pacific eagle. Through the business mechanisms that holds tight the nations gear in getting up from
the mudflat of poverty and from the constant status in the Third- Wold- list of toiling countries.
While on the MICRO level, business is like a tightrope that knits a single unit in the society. It is
a primary alternative and a stepping stone towards necessary needs and gratifications. Business
introduced a means on how to sustain life that only basic skills can be a human-capital, no high
benchmarks and conditions require. Diligence and perseverance are the stirring core values in the
micro level. Thus, it promotes remedial response to the current situation that family or single
person is experiencing. Business establishments, stalls, “Sari-Sari stores” etc. that can be found in
the block, in the neighbourhood, or in the next street, are common instances of minor or sub-
businesses in our localities. These enterprises may be minute in its extent but it has its full-facet
of a business facility and competence. Also, in the micro level, those individuals who are involved
or engaged in this type has the capacity to contribute a huge effect in community-building and
resilience.

Filipinos may possess the ideals of great business forerunners because of what they have
been through from the past and up to this day, yet they still have to strengthen their faith that they
can surmount any obstacles that will hinder in their way. Philippines should be mindful in utilizing
human-resource as a primogenitor in mobilizing the delayed manoeuvres that is occurring at the
present. A paradigm-shift can be enforced in order to have improvement and reform. Hence, they
should not be afraid of big alterations that will occur in front of this helpless-case ruining it. The
whole nation must invest more on human capital since Filipinos have these abilities that are easy
to mobilize and quick to develop, just a sort of confidence, discipline, and trust. Business in the
Philippines is like a melting pot that frames, shapes, influences a large mass of people to move
upwards and forwards in the vertical path of development. It even builds ladders of various breaks
and chances opening doors for personal-engagement, financial stability, skills-development, and
dream opportunities. It even contributes a lot of taxes in which the government securely acquires
to fully-sustain its programs and services. But somehow, as a part and parcel, it increases the
intensity of competition which triggers social-strain and conflict. Ergo, Business is a trick and a
challenge. Just like a game, you need to gamble in order to gain, it’s in your hands whether you
lose or win!
