layouts to be used in Engineering Drawings.
2.0 SCOPE
3.0 DEFINITIONS
4.1 Procedure
5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
To produce drawings in accordance with this Technical Practice and other project
specific procedure, and the appropriated Work Instruction applying good engineering
practice.
5.2 Checker
To carried out checking in accordance with this technical practice and associated
procedure and Work Instruction.
To ensure that issued drawings comply with the requirements of Corporate and Project
Procedure.
6.0 GUIDELINES
Nominal Size
of Sheet Drawing Frame Size
Each type of line whether produced manually or by CAD, shall be of consistent width
and density and shall take account of the eventual microfilming of drawings.
6.4 Lettering
The type and size of lettering and numerals, whether produced manually or by CAD,
shall take account of the eventual microfilming of drawings.
Attachment ENG-TP-202-AT2 defines the lettering standard and shall be used unless
the project specific requirements are otherwise. Any project specific shall take into
account.
6.5 Layout/Format
The drawing, generally to the right hand side or along the bottom, shall include:-
e) FW Contract Number.
g) Notes Box.
These may be varied due to specific project needs, (i.e. client logo/approval boxes
added etc.) however, all variations shall be formally approved by the relevant Project
Manager and the Project Engineering Manager shall ensure considering between
disciplines.
Plan views shall be placed on arrangement drawings such that north is either to the top
or to the left of the drawing frame. The north point symbol shall be placed in the upper
left hand corner of the drawing.
6.5.3 Elevations
Grade elevation shall be taken as 100.00m at high point of paving (HPP). This may be
varied due to specific project requirements.
The original scale used shall be clearly stated on the drawing e.g. ORIGINAL SCALE
1:50. In addition, a metric graduation scale shall be included on all drawings to enable
the scale of any reproduction to be determined.
When it is necessary to use more than one scale on the same drawing, each plan view,
elevation view scrap details etc. shall have the scale clearly identified e.g. PLAN VIEW
LOOKING NORTH SCALE 1:50.
Numbers shall be used for identifying details. Letters shall be used for identifying
elevations and sections. The letters I, O and Z shall not be used.
Revisions after Rev A1 shall be identified by a cloud and revision mark. Revision clouds
are not required at Rev Z1, As Build Revision, unless otherwise specified by the client.
Revision clouds and revision triangles with the appropriate revisions inserted shall be
carefully located to avoid obliterating the contents of the drawing. Manually produced
drawings shall have the revision clouds and triangles drawn on the back of the drawing
sheet.
