Being a conqueror means bringing the banner of Christ with boldness and great courage. To
stand tall and to overcome, to prevail, or to be victorious. Romans 8:37 says, “We are more
than conquerors through him who loved us.” To conquer is to be victorious over an adversary.
To be "more than a conqueror" means we not only achieve victory, but we
are overwhelmingly victorious. Death does not defeat us. Hardship does not defeat us. Surprise
does not defeat us. Weakness does not defeat us.
Being a warrior not only refers of being a soldier. God is our great warrior and we are his
successors. The Lord said in Deuteronomy 20:3-4 “Hear, Israel: Today you are going into battle
against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by
them. 4 For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your
enemies to give you victory.” And here the Lord is the warriors only confidence. Running the
Christian race and fighting the good fight of faith.
freely offers himself to God: this shows the true nature and effect of an application of pardon;
it gives a man freedom and boldness in the presence of God, and stimulates to a ready and
cheerful obedience to his will, and engages him with the utmost alacrity in his service; so far is
the doctrine of free and full pardon by the blood of Christ from being a licentious doctrine.
