ABSTRACT
The abstract is brief synopsis of the project work and should be written in 4 paragraphs. The
first paragraph should introduce the area of the topic and give importance of the work / topic
in the present day scenario, hence leading to the objective of the project work. The second
paragraph should briefly discuss the methodology that was adopted in the work. The third
paragraph should discuss briefly the important results that were obtained and its significance.
The fourth paragraph should discuss the important conclusion(s) of the project work. If you
have used some software tools/packages or hardware/systems, indicate them in the last line.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
In this project a wearable device that can monitor yogic breathing has been
developed which can monitor heart rate, breathing and posture, provide
visual information. By monitoring these three aspects the user can choose
an exercise that is more effective and also have visual information of how
it's effecting his body. Various papers were studied for the purpose of this
project with concentration on effects of posture on breathing and the
effects of slow breathing on heart rate and stress.
CHAPTER 3
METHODOLOGY
This chapter should include
Introduction (1 paragraph brief of what is going to be discussed in this chapter)
Methodology
Detailed methodology
Assumptions made
Circuit layout / one-line / block diagrams
Component specifications
Justification for component selection
Tools used
Detailed specification / listing of the various components, measuring devices,
software tool boxes, reference data sheets etc
Preliminary result analysis if any
Conclusions
In this chapter the components used in this project along with the details of
the methods used in acquiring data from various sensors will be
discussed. The availability of the alternatives along with the reason for the
choice of the components will be discussed. This chapter also provides the
specification of the components and details of the design used.
1. NodeMCU:
This is the ESP8266 based microcontroller board that provides access to all
the pins on the ESP 8266 and also contains an inbuilt programmer to
program the microcontroller over the USB. The NodeMCU can be
programmed by using either Lua Script or Arduino IDE. The Arduino IDE
support is through community developer. Most of the libraries written for
Arduino are directly supported without the need of any changes. It
contains a WiFi module that supports various wireless protocols.
Specifications:
NodeMCU was particularly chosen for this project because it requires only
for 3.3V for operation which means it can be easily powered by a Lithium
Ion Poymer battery of 3.7V. Also for a wearable device, wireless
communication is must so that data can be transmitted over the internet to
any other device or server for storage and further analysis.
Arduino Pro Mini was required since NodeMCU contains only 1 analog pin
and this project has to acquire data from multiple analog sensor. While an
external ADC module is good alternative, the price difference between
both the Arduino Pro Mini and ADC module is less hence the extra
processing power will be useful in processing some of the data before
sending it to NodeMCU hence reduce the time required.
Similar to NodeMCU, the Arduino Pro Mini operates at just 3.3V and
hence has lower power consumption hence can be easily powered by a
battery of small capacity.
Another reason for using the Arduino Pro Mini over an ADC is because a
separate device was required to be situated at the lower body where
posture can be measured and also breathing can be monitored. By using
I2C communication we can easily get data from lower body to the
NodeMCU on the wrist using just 3 wires which otherwise would have
required 6 wires if directly interfaced with the NodeMCU.
Flex Sensor:
A flex sensor was used to track the posture of the user. Flex sensor changes
resistance on bending which makes it an ideal choice to measure the
bending of the spine.

CONCLUSION AND FUTURE SCOPE OF WORK
