Specific Grading Guidelines for this Course:

Summative Assessments (40%):
Summative assessments include all formal
assignments such as projects or tests.

Formative Assessments (40%):

Formative assessments include all non-formal
assignments such as quizzes, homework, vocabulary
assignments, notes, etc.

Citizenship (20%):
Citizenship includes coming to class on time everyday,
being prepared with appropriate materials (paper,
pen/pencil, charged chromebook, student ID), and
participating in class.

Attendance and Grading Policies for Make-Up or Late Work

Attendance: Student academic success is tied directly to attendance. If the student is to have the greatest opportunity to learn and be successful, excellent attendance is
essential. Again, all assignments and due dates will be posted on Google Classroom.

Being on time means that the student is in their seat with the required materials out working on that day's warm-up. Students not meeting these requirements or who are talking
or using their cell phone instead will be marked tardy.

It is the responsibility of the student NOT the teacher to get any work missed due to absence.

● Students with excused absences: required to make-up all assignments for full credit. Time frame determined by teacher based on the assignments and length of student's
absence.
● Students who have been suspended: required to complete all assignments. It is the student's responsibility to contact the teacher to get missed work. Time frame
determined by teacher based on the assignments and length of student's absence.
● Students who have unexcused absences or are truant: will NOT be allowed to make-up assignments.

Grading Policies: Per Board Policy, “assignments will be completed on time,” teacher will “specify clearly the due date,” and “hold the student accountable for performance of
assigned homework.”

Late work may be accepted at the teacher's discretion for partial credit within the quarter that the original assignment was due. Each day the assignment is late it will be
deducted 10%. No late work from one quarter will be accepted past that quarter's mark.

If the student was absent on a date a test was given, it is the student's responsibility to make an appointment to do a makeup. After one week, missed exams will become a 0 in
the gradebook.

**ACADEMIC DETENTION**
Students who display a pattern of incomplete or missing work, fail to keep up with assigned reading, or who do not turn in major projects may be assigned academic detention.
These students will be required to complete assigned work with the teacher during detention. Students will be assigned academic detention until the assignment is complete. If
students fail to complete the assignment within a week OR do not attend the required academic detention they will be assigned Saturday School.

Technology in the Classroom:

Student Expectations and Classroom Rules: FUHS is a 1:1 school, which means that all students are issued a chromebook to utilize at school and at
