What We Understand
of Russian Project Basis
 Limited local resources to
execute and fabricate units
 Remote location
 Timely Delivery
 High Quality
 Technical on-spec
performance
 Cost Effective Execution
scheme
 Meeting local codes (GOST)
 Layout for ease of operation
and maintenance teams
 Safe execution
 Risk management

Why Modular?

Current challenges to Russian Projects

 Long schedules not meeting market demands
 Project timing and budget overruns common
 RDIs overburdened
Opportunities for improvement
 Better management of project design phases
 Improved transfer of technical design to EP contractors
 Early procurement of critical equipment to reduce risk
and improve schedule
 Modular equipment to reduce construction time / site
congestion and complexity

Lower risk and improved NPV

Reduces schedule, fixes cost, eliminates difficult site construction

Why UOP Modular?
Traditional “stick-build” approach Modular Supply by UOP

VS

• Site Congestion • Quality Assurance and Control

• Poor Site Logistics • Reduced Site Congestion
• More Cranes and Crane Time • Easier and Safer Site Logistics
• Longer Schedule • Limited Crane Usage
• Higher Safety Risk • Shorter Schedule
• Higher Execution Risk • Low Safety Risk
• Weather becomes a factor/risk • Low Execution Risk
• Low Labor Requirements

UOP Modular CCR Regenerator

Specialized Technology

 Continuous Solids Transfer - Special piping

& equipment layout requirements
 Over 500 instruments, including analyzers
and nuclear level instruments
 Operating at temperature over 500°C and
in corrosive conditions requires special
metallurgy
 Large height-to-width ratio of the structure
 Need operation & maintenance friendly
layout at lower decks, where equipment,
piping, and instrument density is high
