Criminology as one of the top most enrolled course in
KCST is now supporting with its utmost effort the different activities both indoor and outdoor, as a way of giving criminology students with practical and first-hand knowledge, which probably useful in the pursuit of a successful criminal justice education in the country.
The increasing number of enrolees in criminology made the
president think of a way to enhance the skills and knowledge hidden in every student like going for an informative field trips, seminars and actual work shop with partner agencies and most especially “internship” where graduating students will be exposed to the real nature of Law Enforcement Job in the community.
OJT 2 is one of a kind experience as part of the internship
program offered in the college, thought it’s not that easy as first thought as some could possibly imagine. I found it challenging and at the same time interesting, wherein you are obliged to do tasks that you are not good at or even experience it for the very first time. Interesting at the other side, because you are learning and exploring things that are new to you while you are with your team mates.
Rendering duty with different agencies made me realized
something, the importance of effective and efficient public servant for government service. And it barely starts with the very basic human resource and it’s the individual people inside the organization. So we future leaders must come to an effort to give the best we can as we oath to do for many.
Lastly, it’s always good to view internship in a positive
way, because if you’re not open with any corrections, errors and failures and comments from your mentors, it’s just like you are waving your hand to explore new opportunities for improvement. So sweat, mingle and change, for it is a training, where discipline is primarily involved.
Live life long Criminologists!!!
ACKNOWELEDGEMENT
I would like to acknowledge God, maker of everything, for
the unending love and guidance he has been giving me throughout the duration of my internship, you know God how thankful I am that I’m one of those privileged students who will be receiving their diplomas this year, and I did no make it without you who stayed besides me. It has been my fruitful year to acknowledge you as the perfect one, who can do everything.

To r. Elvies O. Dammay, internship coordinator and mentor.
Thank you sir for the patience and understanding beyond our worst and non-tolerable behaviour sometime, but you still stood up to make us good leaders.
To all KCST instructors and staff, thank you for
everything. For the knowledge you have shared to us, it served as our foundation to step up. You witnessed how we transformed from dependent students into who we are now, full of dreams and aspirations.
To my team Chalie, I know we’ve been through with so many
challenges, but thru unity we were able to survive the twist of our internship. Thank you for all the help, favour and guidance you have given me in order to make this far.
To the whole class of Magilas 2018, let’s keep the bond we

NO PAIN, NO GAIN. A famous line quoted by an American
Soldier during the break of WW II. And it opened my mind of something, and it is the essence of personal determination, courage and endurance. If you want something to happen then DO IT, don’t just wish for it. Internship is one my goal and now I am finally ending it.
INTERNSHIP is both physical and a social challenge, coz if
you’re not physically ready to ride with the course of internship and you’re not socially adjusted with the majority, you’ll find yourself pity even how good you are in your own measure. So sweat and mingle! GRAB the opportunity, try doing something that you’re not good at is a challenge, you’re bound to make lots of mistakes. This time, try to view your error in different lights. Be scolded and make a positive CHANGE after! Coz that’s the measure of our willingness to learn. “Do the Orders and Don’t Complain.”
INTERNSHIP is a multi-dimensional training where exposure
and transition is involved. Trying is an element of its purpose, if you commit wrong on the process, be it! Do not afraid to be sanctioned. Doing so will help you to see that making mistakes is simply part of the learning process. Admittedly, it may not be easy for you to handle doing a less-than-perfect job, but make a conscious effort to push negative and critical thoughts out of your mind. “Success means doing your best-not outdoing someone else” (Galatians 6:4) RECOMMENDATIONS
A.) The implementation of rules and regulations inside the
KCST campus must be highly regarded, since many students are still wearing tattered jeans, sleeveless and other inappropriate clothes to the viewers since it is a place for learning not for body-showing. it’s one of the common problems I had encountered during my tour of duty inside the school, where students kept on violating school policies, therefore the guard or even interns assigned at the main gate should be firmed and strict enough to send out from the campus those proven violators for them to know the consequence of their misconduct, with that it will serve as a lesson for everyone. B.) Interns must be given also opportunity to express themselves in a way that their suggestions can also be heard and decided accordingly. Since not all interns afford what others afford, give also time for them to voice out their opinions regarding some internships matters that can be solved in a two-way process or joint decision between the stakeholders and interns themselves. Voluntarily and not violently. C.) Strict implementation regarding absences and tardiness must also be enforced strictly among interns by the heads of different agencies. D.) Uniforms must be secured at the same time from the sponsoring-tailor shop, because it’s a little bit inappropriate that some interns during the first week were already wearing their uniforms, while others do not yet have. So for uniformity and unity, uniforms must be distributed one at a time and be worn uniformly. E.) Open forum is encouraged F.) Regarding the passing of reports, I think it would be better if ticklers and weekly reports are being submitted every end of rotation, so that interns will manage their time (avoid rushing) during the final passing.
