Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Discovery Education is a great tool for students to stay engaged and
creative. After students have created this it allows them to either let them share their work or also is a
overview for them to write essays and things of that nature.

Lesson idea implementation:

Opening: What are ways we can organize thoughts?

I DO: I will start by showing the students my PowerPoint on the 5 regions. The discovery education I created
and how to navigate the website. I will add facts about the regions and pictures, so they can get a better idea
of what to do.

WE DO: As a class we are going to create a discovery education on the 5 regions of GA. We can just pick one
of the regions to start just so they are aware oh what to do. Students can use any type of resource to find
information for each region. The students can create an organizer on paper for them to help with the
Discovery Education.

YOU DO: The students have started to create part of their discovery education and have started doing
research as individuals students will continue to make their creation. Students will incorporate all 5 regions in
their handout.

CLOSING: Have each student present their Discovery Education to the class. Display them in class bulletin etc
for teachers and other students to see.

Reflective Practice: Using Discovery Education helps students be creative and share their creations in a
unique way. It allows them to upload text, images, videos, etc. Each student is going to produce their own
creation. I would like to highlight their work throughout the classroom. I could do this in several ways. Post on
a homepage parents and others can see or create a class book or PowerPoint with all the students work
highlighted in it.
