Matabane is a story of a boy who disliked the
school at first and has a lot of questions in his
mind why his father and mother weren’t able to
get the opportunity of going to school. The boy
stopped asking himself after his mother
explained to him how important it is to go to
school and be educated.
The parent’s viewpoint about education before
in the excerpt class is that it was only a tool
through which white people are going to take
away from them and the parents were under
the sway of tribal traditions that it is
