Thermal switches
The stator is equipped with thermal switches embedded in the coils of the stator windings. The switches
have normally closed contacts and are wired in series. In order to minimize arcing they are of snap-action
type*
4Aatcosphi=0.6(cosphi=PF)
6.3 A at cos phi = 1.0 (cos phi = PF)
Rated voltage = 250 V
Note: The Them-d switches are not connected in the warm liquid version!
The Floating Leakage Sensor (FLS) is an internally assembled miniature floating switch for detecting
leakage in the stator housing. The sensor is mounted on the bearing housing.
When the sensor is connected in series with the thermal switches in the stator winding and/or in parallel to
the water-in-oil sensor (CLS), a Mini-CAS supervision relay can distinguish between leakage and critical
temperature signals.

Water-in-Oil Detector
The internal Capacitive Leakage Detector (CLS)* is a sensor for emulsion - water in oil. The sensor is
mounted on the bearing housing, and the sensing unit is located in the oil chamber.
When CLSi,r is connected in series with the thermal switches in the stator winding and/or in parallel to the
FLS sensor, a Mini-CAS supervision relay can distinguish between leakage and critical temperature signal.
*An external CLS-sensor was available until 1995/l. It was phased out for quality reasons.
See technical bulletin 3/4/5/7ooO 06 05.
5.7 Shaft
The rotor is shrink-fitted onto the shaft and these parts are delivered as a unit.
The shaftmaterial is a magnetic stainless steal.
5.8 Bearings
The shaft rotates in one support bearing and one main bearing.
The support bearing is a single-row ball bearing: 63OWC3. F
The main bearing is a two-row angular contact ball bearing: 33OlA C3.
The lifetime of the beatings is mainly dependent on the hydraulic part and the pumpmedia.
The values below can be guarauteed for all hydraulic versions. More detailed values
for a special hydraulic type can be calculated on request.
When the pump is working near the nominal point (B.E.P) the main bearing has following
calculated life : Llh = 3 127.090/180: 50 000 hours. , 3127.170/890: 6 000 hours
Lo = 3127.090/180: 40 000 hours , 3127.170/890: 4 000 hours
Lrb is a refined lifetime formula relaesed by SKF. It contains the affects of the fatique limit of the material and
the contamination of the lubricant. For more information see leaflet “BEARING LIFE CALCULATION”.

LIMITATIONS
7.1 Limitations
The pumped liquid may contain particles up to a size which corresponds to the throughlet of the
impeller or the openings of the strainer.
The NPSH value depends on the operating point. See performance curves.
The performance curves of the torque flow impellers sometimes have a limitation. The low
discharge head beyond the limitation may cause overloading of the motor.
In order to avoid sedimentation and clogging in the piping or excessive wear in the pump, the
discharge pipe must be dimensioned so that a minimum speed, depending on the type of solids
in the liquid, is exceeded. For solids with higher density than that of water up to a size of 0.16
mm, the speed should not be lower than 1.5 m/s. Sand with grains up to 0.6 mm is conveniently
pumped at speeds of 2.4 - 3.4 m/s.
All electrical data of the motor and the performance of the pump are related to operation at the
rated voltage. A voltage deviation of +/-5% does not affect these values noticeably. The data
and curves given are valid for operation at the rated voltage +/-5% only. Greater voltage
deviations up to a maximum of +/-lo% are acceptable but do affect performance, currents, and
possibly the working life span of the motor if operated continuously under full load conditions.

ACCESSORIES
The terminal board permits reconnection between star and delta connection.
A overall view of all connection diagramms is given in the leaflet:
“SUBCAB POWER CABLE CONNECTION”
The discharge connection for the MP-version is available with following outlets:
ISO-G2”I ; 2-l 1 l/2 NPT ; ISO-G3”I and 3-8 NPT.
The standard version has an vertical outlet but there is also an version with a straight
(horizontal) outlet available to which the pump can be connected.
8.4 Adapter
By using an adapter on the pump (Version 3127.090 or 3127.180 ) it can be connected to an old
discharge connection (slanted flange) or to an discharge connection of competitors.
All MP-versions (3067,3085,3102 and 3127) and the 3057 have the same stationary discharge
connection. These are exchangeable without any changes. It should be taken into consideration
that there is enough space between inlet and bottom of the sump to prevent clogging.

For inspection and changing of oil, the oil housing is provided with two oil screws accessible
from the outside. A special instruction how to change the oil is shown in the care and
maintenance.
The oil housing contains 2.25 liter (0.59 US gallon) of paraffmoil (See section 3, Page 2).
Never exceed this volume. If volume is exceeded the seals will open due to inner over-pressure
at high motor temperatures.
An inner and an outer mechanical face seal are part of the “BASIC REPAIR KIT”.
9.2 O-ring
The o-rings for pumps up to 40 ’ C are out of NBR (Nitril rubber).
The o-rings for the warm liquit version up to 90 ’ C are out of FPM (Fluorine rubber)
Several o-rings are available out of Terban . For more details see “Flygt Standard M 2633”.
ITT-Flygt offers o-ring kits, which are also part of the “BASIC REPAIR KIT”.
93 Stator housing
For inspections of the stator housing regarding liquid contents you have to disassemble the
pump. See “WORKSHOP MANUAL” when disassembling.
9.4 Bearings
The grease in the bearings is sufficient for the its whole lifetime .
When changing the bearings, and pre-greased bearings are not used, you need approximately 30
grams of grease 90 20 54 (see section 3, page 2) to fill up the bearings.
For the lifetime of the bearings see section 5.8.
The bearings are part of the “BASIC REPAIR KIT’.
9.6 Tools
Most of the tools needed for servicing the pump are tools normally included in every
serviceman’s tool kit. However, there are some special tools exclusively for this pump type
without which the servicing of the pump will be difficult and the pump can be very easily
damaged. These tools are listed in the catalogue “TOOLS FOR THE FLYGT’S SERVICE
WORKSHOP”.
