The Mine Surveyor is responsible for providing surveying control to assist in the optimum mining of the ore body and to
ensure a continuous supply of ore to the concentrator or ROM by doing regular surveys and checks of the mine site.
Key Accountabilities
Health, Safety & Demonstrate a strong focus on Health, safety and the Environment by:
Environment Complying with Iluka Environmental Health and Safety Policy and having an
understanding of, and demonstrating, the 12 EHS standards, particularly as they
relate to personal accountability
Actively promoting safety awareness and environmental responsibility amongst
company and contract personnel
Reporting all personal injuries and incidents and assisting with investigations
Actively supporting and participate in safety and environmental initiatives
Ensuring JSA’s are completed as required.
Accepting accountability to ensure personal safety and the safety of others whilst
protecting the environment
Cost Control Maintain survey equipment to enable continuous and accurate operation of mining
activities to not only operate in tolerance but also for its continued use.
Ensure mining optimises the ore body that dilution or contamination of materials
does not occur by providing timely controls.
Development Maintain Iluka competencies and ensure best industry practice is delivered by
attending scheduled training and on-going professional development.

Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Advanced Diploma in Mine Surveying
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Authorised Mine Surveyor certificate

Senior First Aid
Prior mining experience particularly in mineral sands will be highly desirable
Experience in mining software such as Surpac, Datamine, Arcmap
Experience in Microsoft Suite
Special features of the job
This role is offered on a FIFO Adelaide or Ceduna basis. The roster is 8 days on, 6 days off. There may be a
requirement to travel to and undertake work at other sites or Company locations as business needs require. Additional
work hours are expected at times dependant on workload. The role operates on the opposite roster to the second
Surveyor.
