nCode GlyphWorks: General Installation Procedure.

Note: Make sure that the nCode GlyphWorks software is being installed on the
appropriate operating system only.
E.g. GlyphWorks for Win XP (32 Bit) is installed only on the machine that is running with
the operating system Win XP (32 Bit).
Also make sure that appropriate Dongle is connected to the machine on which we have
to load the GlyphWorks.

General Procedure for Installing nCode GlyphWorks:

1. Start Windows (if it is not already running).

2. Insert the nCode GlyphWorks installation CD in the appropriate disk drive.

3. Right click on the icon ‘My Computer’ on the desktop and select the option ‘Open.’ (If
the nCode GlyphWorks run is not an Auto run).

4. Right click on the CD-ROM drive and select the option ‘Open’. Then we are able to
see the contents of it.

5. Double click on the ‘Setup.exe’ file to start the installation.


If CD is auto run then a confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to continue or No to
abandon the installation process. Here you click to ‘Yes’ to continue.

 The installation is completed by InstallShield® Wizard.


 Select the Next> button at each dialog box.
 At the step when you will be prompted for the License Agreement, click on the ‘I
accept the terms of the license agreement’ radio button and then click on Next.
6. When prompted, select the default installation location unless it is necessary to use a
different destination. (Default it takes C:\ for installation).

To specify another destination, click Browse…, specify the directory to use via the dialog
box and continue the process. To cancel this action, click Cancel.

7. Click on Next> button. Then it is prompted to select the default folder i.e.
C:\nCode_home by default.
It will ask to create a new folder nCode_home. Click on ‘Yes’ button.

8. When the Next> button is selected, it will ask for license path. Here keep the field
blank and click on Next button. The installation program begins copying files to the
destination directory.

 A progress indicator is located at the bottom of the screen to show the installation
progress.
 The installation process can be cancelled at any time prior to the completion of the
following step.
 Simply select the Cancel button, and InstallShield® will remove the files installed on
your hard drive.

10. When you will be asked for the ‘Microsoft Visual C++’ license agreement, click on
Yes button to accept terms of the agreement.

11. At the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish to complete the installation.

 nCode GlyphWorks will appear in the Programs menu.


 A shortcut icon of nCode GlyphWorks will be seen on the desktop.
 If customer has purchased the designlife module then it will also create a shortcut
icon of nCode Designlife.

10. License’s file should be named as ‘license.dat’

11. Go to the installation directory here C: \nCode\Glyphworks51 and create a folder


named as ‘Key’.
In that folder copy the ‘license.dat’ file.

12. Now right click on ‘My Computer’ icon and select the option Properties.
 In the Properties dialog click on ‘Advanced’ tab.
 Click on ‘Environmental Variable’ tab.
 Click on ‘New’ from ‘User variables for Administrator’ field.
 ‘New User Variable’ dialog will open.
 Set the ‘Variable Name’ as ‘NCODE_LICENSE_FILE’. (pl note spelling of license)
 And set ‘Variable Value’ as ‘C: \nCode\GlyphWorks51\key\license.dat’. (Here enter
the path of license file).
 Click on Ok button to close the properties dialog.

13. Double click on the nCode GlyphWorks icon present on the desktop to run the
software.

14. It will display a dialog asking for the license of the software.
Locate the license file using ‘Browse’ button (here set the path C:
\nCode\Glyphworks51\Key\license.dat’).

15. Click on the ‘Finish’ button.


It will start the software ‘nCode GlyphWorks.’
