SUMMER SEMESTER
It is intimated to all concerned that as per provisions contained in the Academic Regulations of
the University, the Summer Semester has been scheduled w.e.f. 1.6.2017. The students of all
UG/PG/Ph.D. programmes, as per detail given below, are eligible to apply:-
(i) who have been awarded “E” or “F” or "I" or "X" grades, are eligible to apply. A
maximum no. of 2 courses* (maximum 3 courses* for final year [2013 batch or prior]
students) can be taken by a student.
(ii) who have been admitted in second semester of BE/BTech through December Test- 2016
can take 2 courses (maximum of three courses subject to non-clash of time-table)
(iii) third year students of BE(IE)-MBA (after completing Sixth Semester) are also allowed
to take backlog courses (subject to maximum three courses) so as to clear their backlog
before shifting to Derabassi Campus for MBA component.
(iv) of final year (2013 batch or prior) or students who have already completed normal
duration of their studies of all UG/PG programmes and is not awarded Provisional
degree/degree due to nonfulfilment of CGPA requirement or students who want to
improve their CGPA, are also eligible to apply. 'D' grade obtained by a student in any
subject can be improved (maximum three courses*).
*this includes courses of any type i.e. backlog, improvement etc. courses)
The fee to be charged is Rs.10,000/- per subject. The Proforma (available in the Academic
Section and at university website) duly filled alongwith fee receipt must be submitted in the
Academic Section on or before May 23, 2017.

Further, in the summer semester, regular classes will be held if the number of students in a
course is 4 or more. The course(s) will be offered as a self-study to students having 'E' Grade/s if
the number of students is less than 4 (Students having 'F' or 'X' Grade in a particular course will
not be offered self-study course). An instructor will, however, be appointed and all the
components of evaluation will be completed.
Please note that course(s) in Summer Semester will be offered subject to availability of faculty.
