Self-sealing compressed air cocks according to fig. 770 and fig. 775 are made of
malleable iron and provided with a brass plug. They vent automatically when they
are closed, which takes the pressure off the tubes and pneumatic tools. The
screwed-in bayonet coupling is available with rubber seal or with a brass sealing
ring.
It is recommended to select couplings and connecting pieces in such a way that
all seals have a rubber/brass combination. This fits easier than with rubber to
rubber and the seal is better than with metal to metal.
