Biogas Development and Training Centre (BDTC), Dehradun, was recently established `
by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy at the University of
Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun, under the aegis of the Centre for Alternate
Energy Research (CAER) for the implementation of National Biogas and Manure
Management Programme (##
The mandate of the BDTC is to train people, monitor
biogas plants and develop (improve) the technology for biogas production.
Training courses for masons, villagers as well as farmers for utilization of the waste as energy
source in the form of Biogas.

2. Regular Activities:
The main objective of this program is to train masons in the construction of approved
models of biogas plants ± hands on training at selected field locations.
In this program biogas technology is spread among villagers through meetings,
camps, rally¶s etc.
The main objective of this program is to develop manpower for the implementing the
NBMMP as agents by which sustainable development of the state is encouraged. This
training includes technical as well as financial aspects of the process.

Short training for 3 -4 days for Govt. staff to introduce them to the technology and
financial aspects of biogas program
