Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of the Philippines

122 Upper McKinley Road, McKinley Town Center, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig city 1634,
Philippines

Dear Sir / Madam:

I am personally writing this letter to explain why I failed to present an Income Tax Return (ITR)
as part of my requirements to obtain a Tourist Visa for student to South Korea.

First, my father is a bonafide Overseas Filipino Worker/seabased, having a position of captain.

Here are the attached files including my personal letter from my father(sponsor), photocopy of
his passport, seaman’s book, and his valid professional identification cards.

Under the BIR regulation No. 1-2011, he is exempted from filing of the individual tax returns
in lieu that his 20% of his salary is remitted to his allocated allottee beneficiaries. Attached
files include the allotment authorization as per POEA rules and regulations and his contract
of agreement.

I am very much interested in travelling to South Korea. I have been in love with the culture and
the tradition they have. Recently, I’m in the process of learning the Korean language, as part of
my elective in the university. The subject, as well, covers the history, culture, and tradition.

Most importantly, part of our curriculum as a Chemical Engineering student is to explore the
existing manufacturing plants in Asia, most especially in South Korea as their science and
technology aspects are described as exemplary, for us to visualize the technical aspects we
have learned for the past 4 years. It will be indeed great honor and experience for me if I’ll be
given a chance to travel in the South Korea.

Thank you very much for your kind consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Ralph Carlo T. Evidente
