Global warming is also known as climate change. It is a rise in average global surface
(Crutzen, 2016). It is a common issue in today’s world. There are numerous factors that
contributes to global warming. According to the Fifth Assessment Report, the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a group of 1,300 independent scientific experts
from countries all over the world under the auspices of the United Nations, concluded there's
a more than 95 percent probability that human activities over the past 50 years have warmed
our planet(IPCC Fifth Assessment Report, 2014)

Most climate scientists agree the main cause of the current global warming is human
expansion of the "greenhouse effect"( Crutzen, Mosier, Smith, &Winiwarter, 2016).There are
number of gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide in the atmosphere block
heat from escaping. These gases are release from vehicles, factories and power plant.
Similarly, people are using electrical appliances widely in line with the rapid development of
technology, thus the situation getting worse. Almost every house uses electrical appliances to
assist their daily activities. For instance, the usage of refrigerator, air conditioner and many
more.

Moreover, the industrial activities that our modern civilization depends upon have
raised atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from 280 parts per million to 400 parts per million
in the last 150 years(Peter, 2013).Generally, greedy developers cut down millions of trees for
their developments. However, they failed to fulfil the requirements to plant new trees. Thus,
the number of trees are eventually decreasing the number of trees cut down are not equally
replaced.

As global warming became an essential issue to solve. Thus, government and non-
government organizations are urging to take various measures to overcome this issue.
Government can restrict the rules and enforce the law to all the citizens especially to the
developers, factories and transportation companies. For instance, In India, The National
Action Plan on Climate Change(NAPCC) aims to promote the development and use of solar
energy for power generation( Harshal.T.Pandve,2009) .Factories should make sure that the
chimney is tall to prevent the carbon monoxide from polluting the environment. Road
Transport Department in Malaysia (RTD) can enforce the law by ensuring vehicles such as
lorries and buses should not produce carbon monoxide.
Individual can plant trees and plants as they can take carbon dioxide from the air and
they turn it into oxygen. Individuals also can recycle papers as they can save millions of trees
from cutting down every year. Besides, individuals can tackle global warming by reduce the
usage of electrical appliances. Instead, they can use energy efficient appliances as it is
essential in controlling the global warming.Individuals can practice car pooling as fewer cars
can reduce the carbon monoxide from getting into the air.

In conclusion, there are numerous causes such as expansion of greenhouse effect and
unplanned development which contribute to global warming. As a solution, government and
individuals take multiple incentives to overcome global warming
