Methodology/Program of Activities: _______________________________________________________

Organization for planning: Junior High School students at Ayala High School were divided into four
groups to cover the mentoring for Science in Grades 8 to 10.

Planned Program: Needs assessment, twice in a month lecture and tutorials, evaluation of performance
based on assigned tasks and assessment of the extension activities conducted at the end of the
academic year. Seminars, one-on-one and group tutorials on Science subjects from Grade 8 to Grade 10
using teacher-made modules / instructional materials based on Science Curriculum Guides and
collaboration with the Science teachers of the said school___________________________________

Execution of Plan of Work: Faculty members (Science major) personally conducted lectures on selected
topics and consistently monitored the student-lecturers during the implementation of the extension
activities. Science teachers of Ayala High School were given seminars by the PSAU Graduate School
students majoring in Science. BSE-Science students kept track on the performance of their tutees and
went back on topics that needed improvement.

Evaluation of Accomplishment: Questionnaires were distributed to the clientele to evaluate the overall
numeracy program for science, tallied, statistically treated and interpreted and rated. Academic
performance of the students in Science were also evaluated and there were improvements in their
grades after the extension program.
