Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Executive Summary

This Release Note contains information about Control Builder A version 1.3/0. Control
Builder A consists of the components Application Builder, Bus Configuration Builder, Function
Chart Builder, On-line Builder and AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries.

1.2 How to Use This Document

It is recommended that you first read through this document before installing Control Builder A.

1.3 Version Designation

The basic unit Control Builder A 1.3/0 comes along with the following products:

Section 1.5 Compatibility

1.5 Compatibility
Control Builder A 1.3/0 is compatible with the previous version of Control Builder A.

1.6 Restrictions
The Control Builder A 1.3/0 is supported on 32-bit versions of Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows
Server 2008 (SP2).
It has not been verified to run this version together with an earlier version on the same PC.
It has only been verified to run Control Builder A 1.3/0 as a user with administrator privileges.
Control Builder A interface is not included in Control Builder A 1.3/0.
Flash Card handling is not verified in On-line Builder 3.1/0.
Support for LONWORKS and HART fieldbuses is not verified in On-line Builder 3.1/0.
FCB routing via RCOM is not verified in Function Chart Builder 6.3/0.

Chapter 2 Functionality

Chapter 2 Functionality

2.1 New Functions

Control Builder A covers all the Builders needed for the control configuration of Advant OCS
with Master software. The functions of the related Builders are described in the corresponding
Release Notes.

2.1.1 License handling

The Central Licensing System (CLS) used in 800xA systems replaces the license handling used
in earlier versions. One FCB_AC100 license is required for each PC running Function Chart
Builder with node type AC100, e.g. AC55, AC70, AC110 or AC160. One FCB_AC400 license
is required for each PC running Function Chart Builder with node type AC400. One ONB
license is required for each PC running On-line Builder. No license handling for the other
Control Builder A products.

2.1.2 PU410 unit

The PU410 unit is supported as Engineering Board with the same functionality as the PCI-based
PU516A. PU410 is connected to the Engineering station via Ethernet. The PU410 unit is
described in Control Builder A Installation.

2.2 Discontinued and Replaced Functions and Units

The Server/client installation type is no longer supported. The software will always be installed
locally.
Online help pages have not been updated. WinHlp32.exe must be downloaded from Microsoft
to get Online help working, see: “http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607/en-us”
