Writer’s Workshop 
 
  We are building a community of independent readers 
  and writers in fourth grade.  
Rock of Ages Field Trip:   
Students: 
Tuesday, October 31st  ● Wrote in Writer’s Notebooks to build stamina. 
  ● Worked with images from Harris Burdick to 
Celebration of Learners Assembly (COL)  build excitement about writing 
Friday, October 27th  ● Developed complex characters  
at 8:10 am  ● Worked on “Show Not Tell” in their Emotions 
writing pieces. 
   
November 10th - No School   
  In the upcoming weeks, we will be delving into the 
November 16th - Thanksgiving Lunch in the  world of personal narratives. Children will be:: 
cafeteria from 11:30 - 12:05  ● Writing leads or establishing a situation 
● Developing realistic settings 
  ● Sequencing events 
November 17th - Report Cards   ● Putting it all together - PLOT

Students will continue to build multiplicative reasoning 
in our second unit - ​Multi-Digit Multiplication and Early 
Division.  
  
Student will:
