You are working temporarily on a Mega World Company. One of your client asked
you to investigate his house that is under construction. The kitchen area of the
house measures about 10 m by 14 m. The client ordered 2,409 granite tiles
with its side measures 8 inches enough for the said area. Unfortunately , his
neighboring land owner complains that the construction consumed a part of his
land which is about 2 meters. As an engineer, you are going to measure the
excess land and new kitchen area, analyze the excess tiles to return on the
hardware, and compute the total no. of granite tiles to be used on the new
kitchen area. You have to make a proposal with its recommendations through
the use of multimedia presentation. It is evaluated by your client according to its
mathematical reasoning, accuracy of mathematical ideas and presentation.

 No. of girls with ponytail and without ponytail

 No. of peso coins and five peso coins

 No. of active members and inactive members in your group

 No. of student who likes Math and no. of student who likes Science
Activity 3: Fair Corners

Students with their same group will move to their respective corners inside the
classroom . They will be given 3 mins. to analyze and fill up the table given to

You are an editor of your school newspaper, AGUILLEON. Your adviser told you
that the best part of being an editor is when you produces a story that makes a
difference in the school community. To be effective , you keep on reading books,
magazines and newspapers to keep your knowledge tank full. Your adviser asked
you to prepare graphs which follows the certain size specifications to fit in one
column. The original graph measures 8 in. by 6 in. and the similarity ratio from
the original to the reduced graph is 4:2. You need to find the dimensions of the
graph as it appears in one column of the newspaper. You have to make a
recommendations consisting of your analysis and solution. It will be presented to
your adviser through power point presentation. This will be evaluated based on
mathematical reasoning, accuracy and presentation.

Scaffold #2
One of the teachers in Grace Mission College is asking for help in a furniture
expert. She wanted to have a child desk that is a replica of a full-sized adult desk.
Suppose the top of the full-size desk measures 54 inches long by 36 inches wide.
As a furniture expert, what should be the exact measurement of its desk if the
top of a child’s desk is 24 inches wide and is similar to the full-sized desk. You
have to make recommendations consisting of your investigation, analysis and
proposed solution. It will be presented through power point presentation. This
will be evaluated based on mathematical reasoning, accuracy and presentation.
