I Shikha Gautam, Student of MBA 2nd Year, SUBODH INSTITUTE OF


MANAGEMENT AND CAREER STUDIES, JAIPUR hereby declare that the
project on “Training in Reliance Dairy Milk . ” has been done under the

guidance Mr. Rajendra Trivrdi, Delhi.

This study was carried out during summer training from 15th May to 30th June
and not submitted for the award of any other degree/diploma/fellowship or other
similar titles or prizes to any other Institution/ Organization or University by any
other person.
PREFACE

The training is a practical approach of learning by experience and it


helps in earning a good wealth of skills, knowledge and experience that
may help us in our near future of career endeavor.
My project was pertaining to training and development at Reliance Dairy
Foods Ltd. a leading company in food product and milk processing
products. Reliance Dairy Foods Ltd. is a public undertaking engaged and
dedicated in the service of qualitative providing milk processing food
products nation in the food industry serving utilities in the country. I made
myself to learn and gain the methods, procedures as well as regulation
which makes a training programme, a successful one.
Indeed it was a great opportunity for me to undertake the significance of
corporation atmosphere and how employees coordinated with the
policies and procedures being issued by their seniors and superiors.
Also, how senior management lead the best planning efforts and guiding
them to entire personnel in the organization in order to obtain the utmost
efforts for the achievement of the goals and objectives.

As the Indian economy continues to surge ahead, its food sector has

been expanding concurrently to support the growth rate. The demand for

milk products is growing exponentially and the scope of growth of this

sector is immense.
Acknowledgement
I express my sincere thanks to my project head,
______________Reliance Dairy Foods Ltd., for guiding me right from the
inception till the successful completion of the project. I sincerely
acknowledge him/her/them for extending their valuable guidance,
support for literature, critical reviews of project and the report and above
all the moral support he/she/they had provided to me with all stages of
this project.
I would also like to thank the supporting staff of Reliance Dairy Foods
Ltd. for their help and cooperation throughout our project.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Rapid technological developments have made it necessary for managers to


update their knowledge and skills. Managers are often made to handle areas of
responsibility that are radically different from their college specialization.
Managers have become more and more behaviorally oriented. They have now
accepted the idea that they must be sensitive to the needs and aspiration of their
subordinates and colleagues.

More than often it is seen that the employees are not fully equipped with the
knowledge and skills for performing satisfactorily in an organization. Therefore
employees require additional training in order to cope successfully with their jobs.

Since training is a continuous process and not a one short affair, and since it
consumes time and entail’s much expenditure, it is necessary that the training
programme or policy should be prepared with great thought and care, for it
should serve the purposes of the establishment as well as the needs of the
employees. Moreover, it must guard against over-training, use of poor
instructions, too much training in skills which are unnecessary for a particular job,
initiation of other company training programmes,misuse of testing techniques
,inadequate tools and equipments ,and over reliance on one single technique for
example:-on slides, pictures or lectures-and not enough on practice.

Realizing the importance of training and development in an organization I have


tried to get an in-depth knowledge of this policy in an organization like Reliance
Dairy. The project covers the various training methodologies adopted by the
organization and various employee development programs aimed to enhance
and develop the skills and the knowledge of their employees. The project is an
amalgamation of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which I had
learnt and compiled after the survey conducted. The questionnaire designed for
the survey was aimed at getting the personal opinion of the employees on the
existing training and development policies in the organization.
