Hello,

My name is Fahlon Smith and I am a student teacher studying Education at Vancouver Island
University. I would like to introduce myself to you, as I hope to get to know each one of you
throughout my time at the school.
I was born and raised in Parksville, where my parents and entire family still live! I completed
my Bachelors of Music at the University of Victoria in 2016. My main instrument is viola (a large
violin), but I also play violin, marimba, piano, guitar, and sing. I have been teaching music for 10
years and cannot wait to begin teaching other subjects as well!
It is such an honor to work with the teacher and her wonderful class this Spring. I will be at
the school on Mondays, as well as February 26 to March 2 and April 9 to May 11. I am looking
forward to working with the class on a variety of topics such as measurement, fairy tales, the
water cycle, mapping, and more!
