SCHOOL NEWS
PRINCIPAL’S CORNER:

Dear Families,

This is a perfect time of the year to give thanks for all the blessings God has bestowed upon us. St.
Columba is truly blessed with a community of families that believe in the mission of Catholic education.
Catholic education would not be as successful as it has been without the support of its school families
and parishioners.
Our annual GALA was another successful fundraiser. On behalf of the students I would like to thank
the GALA committee for the endless hours they put in to this event. A special thank you to Danielle
Simmons and Maggie Perry for leading the GALA committee, Rhea Palma and Huy Tran for their
awesome accounting, MaryAnn Mararac for venturing out into the community for donations. Mrs. Deb
Oberg for another year of dedicated service, Maria and Rorie Ring for their choice of menu for the
evening and beautiful centerpieces, Mr. Daryl O’Donnell for being an entertaining Auctioneer, MaryAnn
Rodolfo for her patience with the email blasts, all our parents who took time out of their weekends to sell
raffle tickets and for helping set and clean up the night of the event. It was a fun-filled night with good
community building. We are very thankful to all the families who supported this event. The teachers are
very excited that a total of $9,250.00 was raised for Chrome Books. These Chrome books will be divided
up between the classes and used for learning centers, research, and IXL.
The end of the third quarter is on March 29th. Please make sure you check Gradelink once a week to
monitor your child’s academic progress. If you have any concerns, contact your child’s teacher as soon
as possible. I also welcome any parent who would like to meet with me.
As we continue on our Lenten Journeys let us continue to practice the teachings of Our Lord in our
thoughts, words, and actions.

Blessings,
Ms. Navarro

EASTER LITURGY: St. Columba parish welcomes all families to attend our Family Easter Liturgy Mass at 9:30 in the

your gift. Second prize $2,500.00 went to the Galvan (KG) family and third prize $1,000.00 went to the Taillon

SCHOOL RE-REGISTRATION FOR 2018-2019: We are finding out that some families are not aware if they have
registered for the 2018-2019 school year. If you haven’t completed and submitted the registration form with
registration & PTG fees you are not registered for the upcoming school year. Also, registration fees received
after March 16th are $300.00 per child. PTG family commitment fee of $200.00 is also due at the time of
