Executive Summery

People are the most important and valuable resource every

organization has in the form of its employees. People enter into organization with
certain characteristics but so many times certain factor like poor management, poor
working condition, nature of job, location of firm influence their behavior at work
place. The reason for my interest in satisfaction studies because it is a key drive to
corporate success if controllable. The cost of dissatisfaction to business, usually
expressed in terms of lost productivity. So, we can say balance satisfaction is one
of the important areas that directly contribute to wards productivity & efficient
running of an organization. This study also helps to discover the causes of
absenteeism which ultimately helps the organization in achieving their goal
quickly so it is an indicator to the organization.
As i started working on the “ Employee Satisfaction”, it appears
me quite simple but after going depth I understand its significance. For this
problem I prepared myself to face manpower of manufacturing unit. Its not an easy
task to recognized that employees are replying same as they are feeling in
organization. All the questions were prepared as employees didn‟t hesitate to give
answer about their working place.
All the data collected from employees & workers for the facilities
provided by management & also the payment structure got interpret. The analysis
gives the result of most of the employees are satisfied with the management
activities. As a research part there some expectations came into picture of
employees which can help management to take further decisions to improve
productivity by more employee satisfaction.

Industry overview
Originally used in ITALY, submersible wastewater pumps first
were seen in the United States in the mid-1950

The submersible wastewater pump & Motors became popular in

the early 1960‟s, when a guide-rail system was developed to lift the pump
out of the pit for repair. This ended the dirty and sometimes dangerous task
of sending people into the sewage or wet pit. Growth of the submersible for
wastewater pumping since has been dramatic, as an increasing number of
specifics and users learned of its advantages. Two classes of submersibles
exist. The smaller units, commonly called sewage ejectors, are used in
home and light commercial applications; they normally handle up to 2-inch
spherical solids and range from 1.3hp to 2 hp.

The pump is efficient quite in operation, safe to install and

performs long and reliably, the submersible wastewater pump is used
primarily for wet-pit sewage lift stations and for industrial sump or process
effluent applications. A common use for small pumps is to move effluent
from tank to disposal in septic tank systems.

Large and small units are used in a variety of ways in the home.
Farm motel, school, marine, commercial building, industrial plant and
municipal sewage and storm water systems. Submersible pumps have been
proven over the last half of a century, disproving those skeptics who
originally questioned how an electric motor-powered pump could run
under water. Originally developed in ITALY, millions now are used daily
throughout the world to pump clear, raw water and waste water.

they directly contact the qualified candidate. Company also gets helps from its
internal sources like employee reference etc…

Falcon has adopted the various methods of selecting the essential
workers in the organization. One of those methods is to call the candidates for
personal interview to know his basic knowledge, attitudes regarding the job and
some other basic testing. For that, company has a selection committee to select a

Fortunately in Falcon there is not found any type of causes.
Company‟s employees are very satisfied with company. There are very rare cases

34
Objective Of The
Research

35
Research
We all know that “CUSTOMER IS THE KING OF THE MARKET”

But it will not wrong if I said “To serve your customers serve your
Employees”. And in any manufacturing unit every workers can be considered key
person of the organization.

Employee satisfaction is a measure of how happy are with their job

and working environment. Keeping morale high among employee can be of
tremendous benefit to any company, as happy employees will be more likely to
produce more, take fewer days off, and stay loyal to the company. These are many
factors improving or maintain high employee satisfaction, which wise employer
would do well to implement.

To measure satisfaction, many companies will have mandatory

surveys or face-to-face meetings with employees to gain information. Both of these
tactics have pros and con and should be chosen carefully. Surveys are often
anonymous, allowing employees more freedom to be honest without fear of
repercussion. Interviews with company management can feel intimidating, but if
done correctly can let the worker know that their vice has been heard ad their
concerns addressed by those in charge. Surveys and meetings can truly get to the
center of the data surrounding employee satisfaction, and can be great tool to
identify specific problems leading to lowered morale.

Many experts believe that one of the best way to maintain employee
satisfaction is to make employee feel like part f family or team. Holding office

36
events, such as parties or group outings, can help build close bond among
employees. Many companies also participate in team building retreats that are
design to have found success.

Of course, few employees will not experience a boost in morale after

receiving more money. Raises and bonuses can seriously affect employee
satisfaction, and should be given when possible. Yet money cannot solve all
morale issues, and if an organization with widespread problems for employees
cannot improve their overall environment, a bonus may be quickly forgotten as the
daily stress of an unpleasant job continues to mount.

If possible, provides amenities to your employees to improve morals.

Make certain they have a comfortable, clean break room with basic necessities
such as running water. Keep facilities such as bathrooms clean & stocked with
supplies. While an air of professionalism is necessary for most business, allowing
employees to keep family photos or small trinkets on their desk can make them
feel more comfortable & nested at their workplace. Basic consideration like these
can improve employee satisfaction, as employees will feel well cared for by their
employers.

The backbone of employee satisfaction is respect for employee & the

job they perform. In every interaction with management, employees should be
treated with courtesy & interest. An easy avenue for employee to discuss problems
with upper management should be maintained & carefully monitored. Even if
management cannot meet all the demands of employees, showing employees that
they are being heard & putting honest dedication into compromising will often
help to improve morale.
37
Research Objective

My objective of research regarding company sectors is to know the level

of employees‟ satisfaction & quality of work life & give some suggestions to
improve the satisfaction level.

Employee satisfaction surveys help employers measure & understand

their employees‟ attitude, opinions, motivation, & satisfaction. Employee
satisfaction is the terminology used to describe Whether employees are happy &
contented & fulfilling their desires & needs at work. Employee satisfaction is often
measured by anonymous survey administered periodically that gauge employee
satisfaction in areas as management & teamwork.

38
Research Problem

At the very outset of the researcher must single out the problem he
wants to study, i.e. he must decided the general area of interest or aspect of a
subject matter that he would like to inquire into. A research problem, in general,
refers to some difficulty which a researcher experiences in the context of either a
theoretical or particle situation & wants to obtain a solution for the same. Thus an
individual or a group of persons can be said t have a problem which can be
technically described as a research problem.

Research Problem of my Report

Employee satisfaction among Company employee.

Limitations of the study

I. As it is a perpetual research study the responses may be biased & would differ
from person to person.
II. Diversity among the selected sample in term of location, experience & age
difference would affected the responses as well as the outcome.
III. Respondents may be not easily available which would make research a time
consuming activity .
IV. Possibility of ambiguous or omission of replies.
V. Conclusion derived by one-self(Decision maker).

39
Research Methodology

40
Research Methodology

Research in common parlance refers to a search for knowledge. One

can also define research as a scientific search for a specific topic. In fact, research
an art of scientific investigation. Dictionary meaning of research is “A careful
investigation or inquiry especially through search for new facts in any branch of
knowledge”.

“All progress is born of inquiry. A doubt is often better than over

confidence. For it leads to inquiry, and inquiry leads to investigation.” Increased
amounts of research make progress possible. Research includes scientific and
inductive thinking and it promotes the development of logical habits of thinking
and organization.

Thus, research is the fountain of knowledge for the sake of knowledge

and an important source of providing guidelines for solving different business,
governmental, and social problem. It is a sort of formal training which enables one
to understand the new development in one‟s field in better way.

41
Research Design

The formidable problem that follows the task of defining the research
problem is the preparation for the design of project, popularly known as the
“research design”. Decision regarding what, where, how much, by what mean
concerning an inquiry or a research study constitute the research design. “A
research design is the conceptual structure within which research is conducted; it
considers the blueprint for the collection, measurement & analysis of data”. As
such the design includes the outline of what the researcher will do from the
hypothesis & its operational implications the final analysis of data.

Research Design of my Report

a. Study about :

The study is about the employee satisfaction among the employees.

b. The study being made :

The stability & satisfaction of the employee are very essential for any
company, because employee are the most important assets of the company;
they need to be retained for longer tome period. They will be stable if they
are satisfied.

42
c. Type of data required :

There are two types of required for any research: Primary & Secondary. In
my survey, primary data will be required.

d. Source of data :

Primary data: it is available through questionnaire & interview method

e. Sampling :

Sampling Unit: Employees

Sampling Method: Stratified Random Sampling
Size : 50 out of total employees

f. Tool used for Data Collection :

Through questionnaire & interview method.

43
Data Collection

In dealing with any real life problem it is often found that data at
hand are inadequate, and hence, it becomes necessary to collect data that are
appropriate. There are several ways of collecting the appropriate data which differ
considerably in context of money costs, time & other resources at the disposal of
the researcher.
Primary data can be collected by surveys. In case of a survey, data
can be collected by any one or more of the following ways:
1) By observation.
2) Through personal interview.
3) Through telephone interview.
4) By questionnaire.
5) Through schedules.

44
Data Analysis &
Interpretation

45
Data Analysis

After the data have been collected, the researcher turns to the
task of analyzing them. The analysis requires a number of closely related
operations such as establishment of categories, the application of this categories to
raw data through coding, tabulation & then drawing statistical inferences.
Researcher has to classify the raw data into some purposeful end useful categories.
Researcher can analyze the collected data with the help of various statistical
measures.

Suggestions

59
Suggestions

The research, findings and analysis would be incomplete if no

suggestions would be given. Though the level of experience is almost nil for me, as
a formality I would like to give some suggestions which I found necessary.

First and foremost, the salary. 15% of the total respondent employees
are expecting more salary, as they consider their skill, knowledge, experience,
qualification and work they do. So while determining the salary these all point
should be taken in to consider.

Some necessary facility should be provided by the company like lunch

and transportation. And company should focus on the individual growth also.
