Complementary Food Breastfeeding (MP-ASI)

 According to the mothers breastfeeding cannot sufficient baby needs in
continuously until baby given MP-ASI. Mothers give be fast food to her baby as
complementary breastfeeding. Mothers give MP-ASI because their baby’s eat
difficult or do not want to eat.

MP-ASI is useful for supply baby’s nutritional needs. For adjustment of

digestive organs in receive additional food and a transitional period from
breastfeeding to family food. In addition, giving additional food is one process of
education that baby taught digest method and swallow solid food. Mothers can
know consumed food by without dangerous ingredients.

The benefits of giving MP-ASI for age different baby. MP-ASI for baby 6
month can given is vegetable and fruit mashed. Im addition, baby also can given
rice porridgemashed. Meanwhile, MP-ASI for baby 8-9 month is can food
introduce smooth cut or similar finger (finger food). And for baby 12 month, baby
can given food as rice, fish, egg, meat and another.

The habit of giving MP-ASI is not appropriate, it can cause some

problems, among them is breastfeeding can be replaced by liquid or another food
quality less nutrients compared to breastfeeding and lack of give suck baby
because satisfied result MP-ASI cause a decrease in the supply mother
breastfeeding. In addition, because baby cannot digesting certain food with good,
then can make absorption problems for baby as diarrhea.

In conclusion, MP-ASI given to the baby because according to the mothers

MP-ASI can make baby want to eat or not difficult to eat. MP-ASI use for fill
baby’s nutritional needs, for adjustment of digestive organs in receive additional
food and another. There are some kinds of MP-ASI, but depending on the age of
the baby. The habits of giving MP-ASI is not appropriate, can cause some
problems. In my opinion, MP-ASI can be given for baby but also should remain
given breastfeeding.
