Civil Courage against Discrimination – CCaD

International Training Course

General aim and specific objectives
The general aim of the CCaD training course is to promote in our societies a positive approach and
attitude towards the inclusion of young migrant women.
Through its implementation, we would like to achieve the following specific objectives:
• To favour the inclusion of young migrant women over 18 in our societies overcoming stereotypes
and prejudices
• Equipping youth workers with instruments and competences to favour the inclusion of young
migrant women
• To develop civil courage skills to contrast discrimination practices at local level
• To exchange good practices on the inclusion of young migrant women, creating local networks to
support it.
The project CCaD will contribute to the awareness raising of participants and their organisations to
sensitive issues related to young migrant women across Europe. Through the training course we will
equip youth workers with competences and new methods, such as civil courage approaches, to be
used in their work and local environment for contrasting discrimination against young migrant
women and to favour their inclusion.

Participants profile
Participants in the CCaD training course will be 24 youth workers over 18 years old working with
young migrant women or interested in the issue. Candidates shall be interested in improving their
competences on contrast discrimination against young migrant women, and to promote a positive
approach and attitude towards the inclusion of young migrant women in Europe.
In addition:
 Participants shall be able to work in English
 Participants shall be able to fully participate in the course from the beginning to the end.

The working approach


The course will be implemented following the non-formal education approach. The methods
adopted are the ones referring to the experiential learning, such as role plays, case studies, group
discussions, field visits, etc. The CCaD project intends to contribute to the professional development
of youth workers working with young migrant women or dealing with migration issues, and to the

empowerment of European youth NGOs to work to contrast discrimination against young migrant
women.

Practical information
The course will be implemented in Rome (Italy) and the venue will be:

Participants will be accommodated in twin bed rooms.
The venue can be reached by public transportation from the two airports in Rome Ciampino and
Fiumicino. Detailed information on how to reach the venue from the two airports will follow in the
next weeks.
The dates of the training course are from Sunday, 15 April to Sunday, 22 April 2018.
Participants will arrive on Sunday, 15 April in the afternoon and will leave on Sunday, 22 April in the
morning after breakfast.

Conditions
 It is important to participate in the training course from the beginning till the end. No late
arrivals and early departures.
 There is a contribution fee of 60,00€ for each participant that will be deducted from the
travel costs. Let me know, if the fee might be a problem for you.
 The organizer will arrange board and lodging, content of the training course, materials.
 The organizer will reimburse travel costs to participants after they complete the course and
upon receiving their boarding passes. The reimbursement will follow Erasmus+ lump sum
rules: 275,00€ for participants from Austria, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, Spain,
Turkey and 360,00€ for participants from Estonia.

Participants shall fill in the enclosed application form and send it back to this email address
l.pagano@afsai.it at latest by 21 March 2018.
A confirmation of participation will be send out right after the selection, so that participants can
start arranging their travel to Rome.
