1. The Republic Act No. 9292 is all about the Electronics Engineer and or Technician profession.
Article I simply states the fact that all professions are handled by the States and therefore they
will be the one to nurture each and every one of them to be able to give international class service
to their country-mans. Article II shows the different members of the profession’s board and their
contributions to the group of engineers and technician. For a person to be fully called a
professional Electronics Engineer/Technician, each of them must take and passed a licensure
exam which is created by the Board members. A passing rate of 70% must be obtained to pass
the said exam, which is stated in Article III. After passing the exam, Article IV salient provision
states that, “No person shall offer himself/herself in the Philippines as, or use the title
"Professional Electronics Engineer", "Electronics Engineer" or "Electronics Technician", as defined
in this Act, or use any word, letter figure, or sign whatsoever, tending to convey the impression
that he/she is a Professional Electronics Engineer, Electronics Engineer or Electronics Technician,
or advertise that he/she is qualified to perform the work of a Professional Electronics Engineer,
Electronics Engineer or Electronics Technician, without holding a valid Certificate of Registration
and a valid Professional Identification Card in accordance with this Act, except as provided under
Section 26 hereof.”, and their some prohibitions and limitations to the said professions. Article V
is the Sundry Provisions, and its salient key is for each engineer to continue their education, they
shall comply with pertinent rules and regulations first, which is promulgated by the Commission
and/or the Board. Article VI is the last salient provision since it states all the things that a
professional ECE must not do or else, a punishment would be given to them, which is either a fine
or imprisonment.
2. I think yes, because each year, the population of students that takes ECE is growing and in fact,
larger than the year before. And every new member of the ECE profession are becoming more
professionals and knows work ethics and have a much fresher mind and/or thinking.
3. First, they will know their true place in the society and that will help them be connected to the
people and they’ll be able to know what kind of service to give them. Secondly, I believed that
each Electronics Engineer will learn how to behave in the industry and how they’ll be able to
practice their professionalism.
4. None, because if you will read the act carefully, each provisions will be of huge help to ECE
profession. All are connected and will give a much deeper understanding on how the ECE life
works.
5. As I’ve answered on number 2, it helps on the development of the ECE profession and when that
happens, of course it will be connected to the future of the next batches of ECEs. Every year,
fresher minds are made and nurtured by the society, therefore, they can create a much safer
world for us and more advanced technology so that the people will have an easier life. Of course
as a student, it will help me open up to the real world wherein I have a job, etc. This act also
teachers the proper conduct and work ethics of a true professional ECE.
