EXPERIMENT No: 4

TITLE:
“To Calibrate Bourdon Gauge By Means Of Dead Weight Pressure Calibration”

INTRODUCTION:
Bourdon tube pressure gauges are used for the measurement of relative pressures from 0.6 ... 6,000 bar.
They are classified as mechanical pressure measuring instruments, and thus operate without any electrical
power. A dead weight tester (DWT) is a calibration standard method that uses a piston cylinder on which
a load is placed to make an equilibrium with an applied pressure underneath the piston.

OBJECTIVE:
To determine the dead weight pressure by using bourdon gauge.

PROCEDURE:
 First of all took the Bourdon Gauge apparatus and fill the apparatus with water .
 Now fill the nozzle of apparatus with water and open it for the escape of extra air.
 Adjust it at zero pressure and note the reading.
 Now put the different weights one by one and take the reading.
 These reading will be in Psi from the dial.
