Faith  in  God  brings  us  into  a  personal  relationship  with  Him.  Without  faith,  man  cannot  know  who  God  
truly  is,  and  without  a  right  relationship  with  Him,  God  cannot  be  pleased.  Faith  enables  us  to  see  God,  
do  exploits  for  Him,  and  live  in  full  obedience  to  His  perfect  will.  Only  by  faith  do  we  understand  that  
the  command  of  God  is  life  for  us.  It  enables  us  to  do  what  pleases  Him,  to  be  sure  of  what  we  hope  for,  
and  to  be  certain  of  what  we  do  not  see.  Thus,  through  faith,  we  see  visions  of  things  to  come.  Present  
difficulties  simply  become  requirements  for  what  God  has  prepared  for  us,  teaching  us  to  see  God’s  
promises  from  a  distance,  to  have  hope,  and  to  take  a  firm  hold  of  the  future.

1. Guide  Questions  for  Baby  Christians  
While  reading  Hebrews  11,  (a)  what  did  you  discover  about  the  faith  of  people  who  lived  long  
ago?  (b)  As  a  personal  evaluation,  how  would  you  describe  your  faith  in  Christ  at  the  moment?  
Strong,  wavering,  “sakto  lang”,  or  small?  (c)  If  you  are  to  fully  trust  God  just  like  those  men  and  
women  of  faith  (others  even  call  them  heroes  of  the  faith),  what  do  you  think  could  happen  to  
you?  
 
2. Guide  Questions  for  Young  Men  
In  this  new  life  we  have  in  Christ,  it  is  easy  to  walk  by  faith  when  we  see  and  hear  the  divine  
workings  of  God.  But  sometimes,  God  seems  to  be  silent  and  still.  (a)  What  are  your  current  
struggles  with  “walking  by  faith”?  (b)  As  you  try  to  look  back,  can  you  share  a  personal  
experience  where  you  walked  with  God  and  the  impossible  became  true  because  you  believed  
Him  to  be  faithful?  (c)  How  did  it  change  your  life?  
 
3. Guide  Questions  for  spiritual  Fathers  
Faith  enabled  Abraham  to  endure  the  unknown.  He  was  obedient  to  God’s  calling  even  though  it  
was  without  certainty,  establishing  a  kind  of  faith  with  which  God  was  pleased.  (a)  Was  there  a  
point  in  your  life  where  God  tested  your  faith  and  you  wavered  through  unbelief  regarding  the  
promise  of  God?  (b)  What  did  you  look  forward  to,  how  did  you  endure,  and  what  have  you  
discovered  about  our  God  and  Father?  (c)  What  are  God’s  promises  from  His  Word  that  you  are  
holding  on  to  at  the  moment?
