are living with a life-limiting illness or grieving the loss of a loved one. You can help strengthen our
mission by participating in my TAKE 5, GIVE $5, GET 5 fundraiser! We are challenging our friends to TAKE
5 minutes to ‘like’ the Compass Regional Hospice Facebook page, GIVE at least $5 and then invite your
Facebook friends to GET 5 to do the same! This fundraiser will lead up to #GivingTuesday, a globally
recognized day of charitable giving.

Goal: Raise $2,500

What is Facebook Fundraising?

 Peer-to-peer fundraising taken to a new level

 Can be used to motivate our target audience base by building awareness, reaching new
supporters and potential donors
 FB fundraising is a proven strategy when integrated with an organizations overall fundraising
effort and it makes it easy for people to take action
 Can use ads to reach a larger audience
 Can be used to reach people who are similar to our existing donors can create a lookalike
audience based on our donor lists and share with people who are likely to be receptive

Why— Benefits:

 Instead of asking for ONLY donations this campaign’s call-to-action asks supporters to fundraise
for our organization, which re-energizes current supporters to get involved by sharing the cause
that they’ve already contributed to and challenging their friends helps us reach new supporters
and potential donors.
 Small donations add up and asking for a specific amount, like $5, can make it easier for more
people to give.
 Everyone loves a challenge— By making this a friendly “referral challenge” internally we are
raising money and boosting morale. Whoever raises the most is the winner.
 Acts as a trial run with the goal of creating a recurring giving campaign, turning one-time donors
into reoccurring donors or to be used for larger campaigns like the capital campaign

*Remember* Emotions drive donations: Effective storytelling & visual content. Make it personal and
express how even small contributions help.

*Remember* Offer information and inspiration that compels people to give and be clear about where
their funds will go and what impact they will have (statistics)

If ____ of my Facebook friends donate JUST $5 I will have reached my fundraising goal!

Did you know? As a non-profit, Compass Regional Hospice's goal is to fundraise AT LEAST 30% of its
operating budget.

However, only a portion of the expenses associated with hospice care are reimbursed by Medicare,
Medicaid and private insurances. This does not include room and board at our residential hospice centers
where patients receive 24/7 care; grief support services offered through our Hope & Healing Center for
the families of hospice patients and members of the community grieving the death of a loved one; and
other patient care services such as the Bridges program.

Yet NO ONE is ever turned away if they are unable to pay.

That's why your donation -big or small- is so important to ensuring Compass Regional Hospice is able to
continue to provide "Care on your terms" to members of our community who are living with a life-
limiting illness or grieving the loss of a loved one.
