Course Title: Microwave Engineering Course ID: EEE1111

Rationale: To purpose of the course is to expose the students to basics and fundamentals of microwave
communication and to enable the student to become familiar with active & passive microwave devices &
components used in microwave communication systems.
Outcomes:
 Apply the knowledge of electromagnetic fields and waves to develop concepts in transmission line
theory.
 Analyze wave propagation in transmission line, waveguides and characterize the passive
microwave components and antennas.
 Analyze and design basic microwave amplifiers, particularly klystrons and magnetron.
 Design the transmission lines, passive microwave components and antennas for given specification and
also match the impedance.
