1. Monitor screen does not work.

2. Monitor screen is hard to see.

• The image contrast or brightness may not be set properly. Slide

instrument to the side, adjust “CONT/BRIGHT” wheel underneath
instrument head.

2. Printing issue.

• Paper comes out without printing: Check to see if the paper roll direction is correct.

• Paper does not come out: Is “PAPER END” displayed on monitor screen? If so, replenish paper.
Note: Always use Topcon paper (part #42330 9003B)

3. “ERROR” message during measurement.

• When taking measurement, ensure patient is not blinking or moving. If the wrong measurement
still appears, objective lens may need to be cleaned.

4. Instructions for cleaning the objective lens.

1. Use the blower to remove any loose dust which

might cause a scratch during cleaning.

2. Fold a piece of lens cleaning tissue in half. Length-

wise. Place the cleaning tool (a Q-tip would serve)
inside the fold at the end and slowly twirl the paper
around to form a cushioned end. Be careful not to
touch the tip as oil from the fingers will adhere to
the tip and then be transferred to the lens.

3. While holding the edge of the tissue with one finger

(so that it will not unravel), dip the tip into DENA-
TURED ALCOHOL. (Do not use nail polish removal
since it contains oils and can damage the lens
as well as leave a film) The tissue only has to be
moistened. Avoid soaking the tissue to avoid ex-
cess of fluid on the lens surface.

4. Place the cleaning tool in the center of the lens and

proceed outward in a circular motion, to the pe-
riphery. USE ONLY LIGHT PRESSURE. When the
denatured alcohol evaporates, replace the tissue.
Never wipe the surface of the objective lens with a
dry tissue for scratching may occur.

5. Change the tissue frequently as the procedure outline in step #4 is repeated. This will insure
complete cleaning.

5. If measurement is still incorrect, check the following menu settings.

1. STEP = .25

2. VD = 13.75

3. DIOPT. SHIFT = +0 .37

To access the DIOPT. SHIFT menu turn on the Power Switch and simultaneously hold down the
Menu button until you hear the beep sound.

6. Unit will not move side to side.

1. Turn off power and remove power cord from

the instrument.

2. Ensure locking mechanism is off and shipping

brackets are removed.

3. Remove the track covers. The track covers are located

on the top of the base on the patient side of the instru-
ment. One on the left and one on the right. 2 screws
secure each track cover.

4. While standing in front of the TV monitor, lift up on

the head and lay it on its side, exposing the un-
derside of the head.

5. On the underside of the head, locate the nylon

cord with the brass pin attached to it.

6. Unit will not move side to side. (continued)

• Clean and lubricate the 2 parallel metal shafts.

• Make sure that the track wheels line up and that the brass pin is situated over the slot, while
placing head back onto base.

• Re-install the track covers and plug electrical cord back in.

7. Patient sees only a green light but not the farmhouse.

• Mode settings must be changed by pressing the “Mode” button on the bottom left
• KRT mode only = Green dot (door is up)
• Refractor or R/K mode = Farmhouse
