Application of the Quality Management System to design an all-in-one app called "My Health &
TITLE
Wealth" that will satisfy the customer's 'know all of what I eat' needs.

LEADER Green Belt

Business Case
In today's stressful world, people are more conscious of their health and money. Healthy eating has gain priority as there is less time to
exercise & as research suggest, healthy is 70% what we eat & rest exercise/meditation. Also in the present world of internet & on the
applications, people need a quick, dynamic & mobile solution to their problems of finding healthy food & saving money on groceries.
Thus, there is a need for "My Health & Wealth smartphone app". If we don't do it, a competitor would cash in on the scenario.
The customers' want to eat healthy, but there is little or vague information available on the food packages. Also, customers' are keen on
saving money buying best rocery at the cheapest price, but there is no common platform to compare & select the best product quality-
price combination.
The "My Health & wealth app" would be a one of its kind product, satisfying above mentioned customers' need.

Problem Statement
In the last three months it is observed that the wait time for a Q-Line is between 25 minutes to 30 min some times more with an
average of 30 min.Wait time is10 Minnutes more than the expected wait time, leading riders to choose other transportation systems
causing loss to the Q-Line System.

Project Objective
A new product development applying the 6Sigma & lean methodologies to get it right the first time. Also to build a high level QMS for
the production/Manufacturing of the app that would enable a house of quality for the newly developed app, converting the VOC into a
successful product - My Health & wealth App

Project Scope
Included Excluded
Data Collection for nutritional values of food

Data Collection on food related allergies & health risks

Data collection on food/groceries' prices in supermarts

Y The project objective

Sub objectives of the project / Contributors to Y. This will be required when:
– the Y is large
ys – Not easy to monitor
Ex:- if “Y” is productivity improvement of the overall process, then the small “ys” will be the productivity
of the sub processes.
Contradicting Factor – Factors that should not get adversely affected while achieving the project
CF objective.
Ex:- While improving productivity, quality should not deteriorate.
Boundary Condition – They are the assumed levels of influencing factors, usually not controllable by
BC the Project team.
Ex:- While improving throughput, volumes are assumed to be at certain levels.

Project Name

Calculate the short-term "Baseline Sigma" of the process KPOV and determine the process
Tool Objective capability.

Example:

Situation: In a random audit, 500 lab sample test tubes are inspected. There are 3 opportunities for a sample test tube to
be in error (tube can be incorrectly labled with a wrong patients label, tube may contain the wrong patients sample, incorrect
tube may be used for the sample transport.) On inspection of the 500 sample test tubes, 38 errors were detected. Determine
the process short-term sigma.

Measurement description Value Example

Units sampled (Units) 500 500 lab test sample tubes were sampled

Opportunities for defects in a unit (Opportunities) 3 3 errors per lab sample test tube

Total opportunity for defects (Total Opportunities) 1500 500 * 3 = 1500

38 errors (12 tubes with wrong label, 16 tubes

Total count of defects in sampled items (Defects) 38 with wrong sample, 10 incorrect tubes used)

DPO (Defects Per Opportunities) 0.025333 38 / 1500 = 0.0253

DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) 25333.33 DPO * 1000000 = 25333
