LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, the students will be able
to:
- Understand with little or no support
specific longer simple narratives on
directions on how to get to important
landmarks by using at least 2 prepositions.
Pre-lesson: - Students are asked on landmarks around
their area.
Lesson (development) Gist:
- Teacher introduces prepositions for
directions to the students by dictating the
directions keywords.
Detailed:
Then, pupils will listen to an audio on
directions between 2 strangers (dialogue).
- Pupils are asked to work in pair.
- Pupils need to trace the route mentioned
in the dialogue in order to get to the
destination.
Post lesson - Students are required to work in pairs and
give directions to each other on how to get
to places in their school. .

and name the landmarks and roads.

- Pupils are shown videos on people making
queries and replies in order to get to
places.
Detailed:
- Pupils are then given the written text of
the video and underline the phrases on
directions.
- In groups or pairs, pupils practice giving
directions on places they have chosen.
Post lesson - Students are required to work in groups
and write a dialogue and act out their
work in class.

the class.

i-think map and designing a poster on
friendship.
Pre-lesson: - Pupils listen to a friendship themed song.
Lesson (development) Gist:
- In groups, pupils are given simple short
texts on friendship and required to fill in
an i-think map.
Detailed:
- Pupils are then assigned to design a
poster based on the text.
- Afterwards they will have to display their
posters for the gallery walk.
Post lesson - Pupils share their feelings and thoughts
about having good friendship.
