Grooving
----------------------------

- Grooving and Feel Improved ALOT after Hands Improved

- Where to sit Ahead/On top/Behind
- Importance of using Metronome
- Feel is more important than absolute perfect (& TH4 Metronomic Time)
- French Grip = more Feel on HHs for Funk, Reggae
- Colouring - 1st = Kick Later in D/V = Ghosts , Later again HH Barks/Accents/Rolls
- Creative Grooving Concept (BLK Guy Drumeo) Focus on 1. Kick 2. Snare 3. H/H-
Ride
- Nail Diff. Tempos in Main Feels (using Songs w/ Increment Tempos) -
Focus on Locking in w/ the Recorded Drums
- Latin (espec. Samba) = Awesome Benefits for Funky Kick ability & Really Helps
2 Handed 16ths Flow
- HH = very important way to express your Feel - as they are the most played Voice
& also probably the most Expresive Voice

THE KEY D/V Periods in my life

---------------------------------

1. WGTN (Vanessa's House) = JOJO M's TQNQs (Moeller, Free Str., Fingers) / 40 Ruds
2. G/Coast (Prema's) = Grooving Learnings = TD4 Tempo Check (Fixed Ahead of Beat
Prob)
- also Focused on the Main 5 Feels (& TEMPO iNCREMENTS w/in these)
3. G/Coast (Gov.Rd) Grooving w/ Songs to another Level (b/c of DVS Song pressure)
4. G/Coast (Gov.Rd) D-W/out (12 G/Way Rud's) = Hands to Another Level
(b/c Attained Tempo Goals for these)
5. CHCH (Lonsdale st) Funk/Reggae & Fills = next Level (S/Groove songs = BIG Reason
)
- also Grooving = next Level (b/c really focussed on Diff. Grooves - eg. 1/2
Time Triplets)
5. CHCH (Lonsdale st) 1. whole playing = next level - b/c of Latin
(students should get into as soon as they can)
2. Timing - improved b/c of "Table of time - subdividing
8ths, 3s, 4s
improved b/c of using Grebs "chid" at 60bpm

7. 5. CHCH (Lonsdale st) - Grooving = another Level - b/c Grv Essentials

= b/c of the Combo of the Variety of Feels & b/c the Tracks have NO
Drums - I have to listen to the Music (listening & locking in w/
the Drum Track as I have done for years isn't a gd idea b/c u
are to obsessed w/ playing perfectly & th/4 Not Grooving w/ the
Band) - get students onto Drumless tracks as soon as they are able

8. DBLEs LH D/V - playing the Melody to that "Rawhide" style song

9. Working on Speed is best learned by not repeating the Ex over in Time - Do it 1
time fast & then
do it again - be careful it doesn't turn into an Endurance Ex
10. 1e+'s - w/ LH - Speed increased when realised to perform ALL 3 Notes from the
FRONT (1st Finger) Fulcrum
- instead of 3rd note from Back Fulcrum
11. DBLE KICK - BEST EX = RF 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + Fill in w/ LF last 1/2 of Bar (3e+a
4e+a) - also 6/8 RF 1 2 3 (LF Fill last 1/2 Bar)
