Date Reported: 03/19/18 Incident: Vehicle vs. Pedestrian

Location: 34th Avenue near Meadowland Mobile Home Park

Suspect: Unknown

Victim: Travis Pennig

Age: 26
Address: Alexandria, MN

*********UPDATE AS OF 03/28/18*************

In an effort to clarify some media confusion in regards to yesterday’s press release, we would like
to provide the following information: our detectives and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA)
are continuing to work this case and substantiate all facts.

After the Alexandria Police Department released video/photographs of the suspected vehicle, a
registered owner of a dark SUV came forward and believed their vehicle may have been the vehicle
involved in striking Travis Pennig. As stated in the earlier press release, the registered owner’s
vehicle did have damage consistent to the scene of this crash. That vehicle was examined at the
BCA laboratory for full analysis and those results are pending.

The registered owner is cooperating with law enforcement and detectives are continuing with the
investigation.

Detectives are attempting to substantiate the driver of the vehicle and the accuracy of the alleged
vehicle involved.

This is an active and on-going investigation. This is all the information we can release at this time
to protect the integrity of this investigation.

Again, we want to thank the public for all their assistance in the investigation.
