MEETING OF THE IMPC INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

ALL CONGRESS DELEGATES ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO ATTEND THIS

IMPORTANT MEETING.

The International Advisory Committee is a formally constituted committee in terms of

the Constitution of the International Mineral Processing Council. It consists of the
representatives of all countries judged to have a sufficient mineral processing interest
and activity. Such countries shall be entitled to nominate a Member and an
Alternate(s). Nominations shall be made at any time by the appropriate national
professional association and/or learned society. Presently 34 countries are
represented and the names of the representatives/alternates can be found on the
Council’s website (www.impc.org.za). The Council wishes to give a much stronger
role to this Committee in the future and hence your presence at this meeting will be
much appreciated.

The Chairs of the Council Commissions will report on their activities

and their plans for the future.

Robin Batterham : Commission on Mineral Processing

Roberto Villas-Boas : Commission on Sustainability

4. IMPC Constitution

The Chair will report on changes to the IMPC Constitution approved

at the Council meeting of 5 September 2010.

5. XXVI IMPC

Dr Pradip, President of the Organizing Committee for the XXVI IMPC

which will take place in New Delhi from 24-28 September, 2012, will
report briefly on preparations for this Congress. He will make a more
comprehensive presentation at the closure of the Congress.

6. Lifetime Achievement Award

Professor Eric Forssberg, Chair of the Award Committee, will explain

the process whereby this Award is made as well as the Council
Award. He will extend an invitation for nominations to be submitted
for the 2012 Award.

7. Hosting 2018 Congress

Countries will be invited to bid to host the XXVIII IMPC in 2018. (cf.

8. Council members

Announcement of the names of the new members of the Council

following the elections on 5 September 2010.

9. Host country – XXVII Congress

The country selected to host the XXVII IMPC in 2015 will be

announced.
