SUBJECT
Air Suspension Adjustment Specifications for Air Spring Height Dimensions and Axle Travel Dimensions
APPLIES TO
Vendor: Hendrickson
Vendor: Neway
DESCRIPTION
Revision Description: New codes and models added to IROS Suspension Height Adjustment Specification
chart.
NOTES:
NOTE: Data book or lineset ride height on vehicles equipped with International, Hendrickson, or Neway
air suspension is defined as the distance from the center line of the rear axle housing to the bottom
flange of the frame. Ride height is a reference only and should not be used as a dimension to adjust
suspensions.
NOTE: Before measuring or adjusting the air suspension to specification determine which wheel end
control valve is mounted nearest and perform the air suspension measurements at that location.
NOTE: If resetting the suspension to obtain the proper settings, deflate the air system and then
achieve the appropriate setting by inflating the air system. DO NOT ACHIEVE SETTINGS BY LETTING
AIR OUT OF THE SYSTEM.

NOTE: Air spring height on a vehicle equipped with Pre 2001 International, Hendrickson HAS, or Neway
AD air suspension is measured from the bottom of a straight edge placed on the top metal plates of the
air springs down to the top of the transverse crossmember that the air springs are mounted to (Figure
3).
Neway ARD air spring height is measured between mounting plates as illustrated in Figure 4.
